    So my subscription lapsed a few days ago and I've been wondering whether to renew this sub, or go and see what's happening in WoW. I thought I'd choose FFXIV.

    Looks like SE made the decision for me!

    edit: Hahaha, oh wow. I've been repeatedly getting the 406 error, and I've been trying my mother's card since mine wasn't working at all. She's just came through to inform me SE have taken off the £1 verifcation FOUR TIMES, and yet won't take the payment for the subscription fee. I am so freaking done with SE and their crappy payment system. No, I am not going to fork over £17+ for a timecard when I only want to buy a £7.69 month. Christ, I've never seen a company so intent on making it difficult for me to give them money. I am livid.

    edit 2: misread the topic title and thought this applied to error 406 too. From a quick google search it sounds like much the same problem, though.

    to the forum admin : i'm only doing this because of your complete lack of customer service. Global Collect doesn't see it on their side, that means the problem lies within SE and GC, not me, not my bank. The funniest thing is, your customer service rep, even though i was referring to FFXI and made that clear, recommends FFXIV prepaid cards... are you kidding me?

    So now I also joined this error party huh?

    I was trying to use my debit mastercard to renew my subscription in this 2 days but just keep getting error 406. Tried buy Crysta same result. Same as above posts, sent ticket to support centre, the same reply as all of you, called bank customer services, they said that was no records at all of transactions to Square Enix in this 2 days except the $1 charges. It is apparently SE problem not our bank's faults. I just bought game time card 60 days from a game website (the method I really want to avoid to cause too expensive), this is my last chance give to SE, if this problem still can't solved before my 60 day sub ended then I will say goodbye to this game and SE and won't recomment other people to play SE games anymore because customer service is TEBBRILY BAD!

    If the test transaction (?1/£1) was successful, however the actual subscription transation has been denied, it would be useful if your bank could do a comparison between these two transactions to see if there is anything different in the way the two transactions are being handled on their end which might cause this. blah blah blah

    Error 401

    I get this too when I now tried to update my sub and move from Coeurl to Lamia. I tried my own card, my mothers card, and my friends card. 401 every time. SE I really love this game, why do you make it so difficult to pay for your services? I use Steam, play Warframe and other games with microtransactions and there everything works flawlessly.

    Change your payment provider, or add Paypal support to EU accounts or something to solve this, please -.-

    How hard is it to charge a damn credit card? I mean seriously, you'd think it was rocket science the way Square-Enix manages to F- it up every time. Every other MMO manages to do it perfectly fine...

    If only I could go back in time to my teenage self and tell him not to play Final Fantasy 7...

    They should fire him and the officer of that department for god sake if they actually want to improve their customer services.
