    I have tried all that Sorbet... And I have tried everything everyone has suggested in this topic. From VPNs to different browsers and anything in between.

    Right now I seem to have gotten up a step in the situation. Now I am getting an Error 401 instead of the usual 601. Which means it is because my credit card does not match up with my place of registration.

    Understandable since I was working in the US when I got the game... and then I got posted to Shanghai (and looks like I am gonna be here a few years). But now for some reason I cannot even change my region setting... But then when I asked a friend back in the US to help me with the registration, he said he got the same error 401 as well which seems weird since I was his housemate for the last 4 years and have been using the same internet and everything since I left the country...

    So to summarize:
    Nothing in this forums works for me
    Error 401 instead of 601
    Cannot change region settings
    Friend back at old home also unable to to help me subscribe

    The only reason why it seems I am one of the 'oldest' posters here is because most of them have just simply given up and what not... Being in Shanghai is very lonely for a gamer and FFXIV held many of my friends whom I have played countless other games with for many years... I mean 'since-Ragnarok-Online' old. So not being able to play and meet up with them in FFXIV is almost like being put in isolation...

    I've got nothing against you trying to help, I appreciate that unlike some people who insist upon telling me that I'm either lying or exaggerating the situation without offering up any possible solutions I'm just telling you this may work for some because some of these solutions have worked for some people but for some people like me nothing has worked at all and there are only two things I haven't tried and that's only because I currently have no sub money to try but ounce I do get some I will try and see if they work.

    They would save ALOT of hassle, if they simply added Paypal to renewing your subscription, I hate to say it, just like blizzard has. - Instead we have to go with Crysta.. which sometimes works..

    So I finally got in switching to Google worked for me but I still think this needs to be fixed and I made a blog on the lodestone to address this issue so that active players of the problem since more people pay attention to the blogs than they do the forums.

    Thats kinda funny. its only been a ongoing problem since 2010 and they are still pointing the finger at our banks and CC companies that state all information is not only correct but that SE never even tried to dedeuct the $1 try

    It is ridiculous this is still an ongoing problem. I also kept getting error 601 (browser switching did not work) even though there is nothing wrong with my card as I use it regularly for online transactions. In the end, I found a solution that worked for me albeit not a perfect one - I got a Game Time card from g2play.net (I've seen it being sold in many online shops, it doesn't have to be that one) and redeemed the code via Mog Station. The problem with this method is that it works for EU accounts only and you also do not get to choose the type of subscription nor its length - it's valid for 60 days, no other option.

    I hope everyone affected by this problem manages to sort it out but Square really needs to do something about this because I know I'm not the only one losing my patience or the willpower to go against their system simply because I want to PAY THEM for their game.

    ok error 401 seems the most common problem SE has and i am now stuck in it, i want to pay for 2 accounts mine and my wife's for 180 each and i cant with either method i tried visa directly, buying crysta and wont process either but they do charge me the $1 so i dont understand why they can charge the $1 but not the entire amount and its the same method i used to buy the game.

    Same thing here -.- I have been playing since the early access. I moved from Germany to Canada. Now I bought the game here any everything but seems to make no difference at all. My CC is German and does not work. Although I use it regularly here for ANYTHING else. I have not been able to play for months now. I tried buying crysta with anything. Paypal, CC....bougth a paysafe card. Nothing worked. Ultimate Pay seems to be a big fat joke. I bought a game I bought a new GPU and now I can't play it. WTF!?
    Any more Ideas what I can do? It is so damn frustrating. No other game EVER had problem with taking my payment -.- Also bought the game with the same CC I want to use. ANY NEW IDEAS???? .......PLLLEEEEAAASSSEEEEE!!!!!

    Had a friend with the same issue. Tried many different types of cards, even tried paying for his account myself, nothing worked.

    Eventually we decided to go ahead and try using an Ultimate Game Card. We went to pcgamesupply.com, bought a $20 game card, went to the mog station and added Crysta (2000), then payed for time for the game with the crysta.

    It has worked and he's been able to play ever since. The only downside is it cost more this way than paying the usual $15 a month.

    So, bullet point for you guys.
    • pcgamesupply.com
    • Buy an Ultimate Game Card (at least $20 so you can get at least 2000 crysta)
    • Add crysta to your account through mog station or account management (takes you to the same page)
    • Go to mog station and pay for your subscription using crysta

    Hopefully this works for more than just me.
