Resolved?Update: Saw this today while doing my favorite activity since not being able to play...

apparently this issue is "resolved"And this is coming from a moderator
I really don't know what to say now![]()
beware that in some cards like mastercard you are beeing scammed since your card is accepted and then you get 401 error and then you go see the belling and se 3 euros payed, 2 to authorize the transaction and 1 to cancel the operation, and the order of billing is: 1 authorized action, 1 canceled action, 1 authorized action
So if you do this multiple times you will be paying alot of euros for nothing
The solution to my issue:
I bought a Ultimate Game Card which did not work (neither did paypal or my CC). I contacted the UltimatePay company (from the link on my error message) and they confirmed that they saw the transaction, but it was denied. They then manually drained my card and added the Crysta for me, and my account is now accessible.
Also, if you wish to contact chat support, then you have to go through the FFXI support page. This seems a bit backwards.
This is the workaround if you have crysta available in your area. If crysta is not available and you get 601/401 you're just out of luck. The solution to my issue:

Found a workaround! Looks like my hunch was right, I tried to subscribe from an IP originating from the country my SE account is from ( and my CC ) and it worked! Super annoying, also customer support is useless, they deleted my ticket, not a single message from them. I guess if you're getting this error, look up what country your IP is from, and compare with the country your square enix account is on.I guess if adding replies to this post will help, then I'm in the I-can't-give-them-any-money boat. Tried CC, tried crysta using ... every means possible ( ultimatepay, paypal, cc ). Keep getting errors no matter what.
I've been thinking about why this may be the case, and the only reason I can come up with is that I live in a different country in which my SE account is registered to ( but my CC country still matches ).
In anycase, free trial ends in a few days, I would like to continue playing ... but I literally can't give them money ... a weird and kinda of comical ( yet extremely frustrating! ) situation really.
Anybody know the Ultimatepays phone number? I can't seen to find it on there site and my UGC keep getting declined along with all the other shitty problems .
Finally heard back from SE. They basically told me the same stuff I already knew about the $1 charge but no way to alleviate my 401 problem. For some reason they won't take my card the conventional way. The only workaround I found out was to Buy Crysta with my card (the card I tried... ) and use that to purchase game time.
Here are how many crysta you will need per payment plan:
30 days = 1299 Crysta
90 days = 4197 Crysta
180 days = 7794 Crysta
I'm sure other people know about this. Just wish I would have found out on Friday instead of giving myself a headache until today. :P

Guess everyone that's still having this issue make a new thread to show them it's not yet resolved?
I had issues with my CC too and I'm in the US ended up having to buy crysta with an ultimate game card, since they rejected my paypal and still not sure why either...
SE this is no way to treat people that can't buy crysta or a game card fix your freaking billing system....
Even I can not understand how a company as large com SE has a very poor customer service.
I'm from the Dominican Republic and I have 5 days without enjoying playing just because YOU do not have a service for our payments efficiently.
this implies that you do not care our money.
I tried with 4 different CC and i am a manager branch for one of those banks for which I am aware of all the data is correct.
Today after waiting on the phone for 1 hour a service representative tells me that due to the amount of intententos should I have to wait a month for my account is unlocked and retry payment.
SE please do something or understand that this could be a second attempt fails.
I was about to get extremely pissed off since it declined my card when trying to add it to the auto renewal service.. I ended up trying this, buying Crysta, and holy mother there was so much suspense because I did not want to be locked out for 24 hours but huzzah, buying Crysta worked for me.Finally heard back from SE.
