Nope they still havent fixed it. Two days ago my housemate finally got an email from SE saying they had "whitelisted" his credit card (this was after 5 days of getting the run around from SE) and that he could now subscribe. When he then tried to subscribe again you can guess what happened, error 401 again and the whole cycle begins again. Ive never ever seen such incompetance and lack of regard from a games company. I will never be going near anything SE is involved with ever again and hope other people do likewise as it shows the company has a total disregard for its customers.
