Payment Method Registration Errors [Error Code 401 and 601]

fyi, I'm in Canada, but my U.S. credit cards won't work on the square enix site as a method of payment, so my work around is to buy ultimate game cards (I used the PC Game Supply online store, as well as I bought one at Shoppers Drug Mart in the store, both cards worked fine), the PC Game Supply site will deliver digitally, so then you can use that to purchase Crysta to pay for your ffxiv account, and then you can setup a recurring payment with the payment method of Crysta. Maybe this information will help someone out there who is having problems.

WARNING/NOTE: this will only work for you if Crysta are available in your region. I think they are not available in EU and actually probably most other countries they won't work, only try this method if you are in Canada or the U.S., or any allowed country.

the note that square enix has about where Crysta has is quite vague but it says "If you live outside of the United States and Canada, and outside of North America and South America, the Crysta System may possibly be available to you pursuant to the policies of Square Enix Co., Ltd. or Square Enix Ltd., depending on where you are located. "

I just tried adding Crysta to my account and Im getting error 11000 when trying to add 20 when i tried to specify the amount it went to a maintenance screen

What country are you in if you are getting error 11000? Apparently Crysta aren't available in all countries or regions, I think they work in North America, but not in EU. That could be why you are getting an error.

It may be worth a shot to ask the people from the ultimate game card people about it. Their site claims it works on this game (ultimategamecard.com/allgames.html) though this apparently isn't true for everybody.

It seems that this shit will NOT get fixed or at least they dont have any plans to addressing this at this point in time and no one knows when they will look at this problem according to the rep i just had a convo with on the phone, for those who can pay for there subs using crysta and Ultimate Time Card or what ever it is called this is what you will have to do to continue playing the game and for those who cant use either of those payment methods then im sorry you are fresh out of luck and will not be able to play this game again. Unless you go buy another copy of the game and register your account in one of the regions this game is availible to, if SE took your money for the sub and you still cant access the game then they will refund you your money back "maybe". the subs SE will lose because of this problem is fine by them because they know very well they have very very very loyal fan base and that is why they dont care about losing subs. was told that the only way they will even pay attention to there payment problems is if we go report our problems to major gaming industries in some sort of artice or something like that and make the world know how this company is treating there customers and taking there money without giving them access to the game or refunding the money they took.

So even with purchasing Ultimate Game Cards, the system still declined them for me But Ultimate Pay was a lot more responsive than SE's customer support and they are working on fulfilling my Crysta purchase process. The problem I was told is that there are multiple layers of fraud protection, which is great for the paying customers, and ironically it is so damn great that it is also driving customers away!

UPDATE:

My subscription has been restored thanks to UltimatePay's prompt customer service. Purchased 2 $20 Ultimate Game Card and redeemed them for Crysta, now I'm good for another 60 days. I wish that SE had the same service

Want to try this method but I'm scared that I might waste my money on this only to be slapped in the face with another error.

Its not worth it atm.

Trying to add crysta results in the 11000 error from Australia. Either that or a Maintenance screen.

Maybe the game.co.uk site but I couldn't find out how to buy game cards from that site.

For the past 3 days I've tried to contact customer service via Phone and Email, I was informed by my CC company that it's due to the Recurring fees is why my pre-paid Debit CC cannot be processed, So I was told to contact FFXIV to have them do a One-Time payment but simply cannot get a live rep on the phone...Total wait time so far 3hrs 20min...Seriously I've played every MMO and MMOrpg on PSN and they have their Subscription Fees and payment options listed on PSN not on the Clients web site!

Im just saying this to say: I purchased this game on PSN I should be able to pay my subscription on PSN!

I have the same problem bro, bought the game on PSN and CC isn't working on their site to pay for the game, why even release the game for the ps3 if you cannot pay through PSN, if i bought the game for the PC then I would expect to use a CC to subscribe to the game.
