    just got an email from them for a ticket i submited over a week ago, told them that i was not able to pay by deibt or credit card and i could not use crysta or ultimate pay because of the region i am in and this is what they replied with.

    We are sorry that you are encountering a 601 Error when trying to register your bank card in your Square Enix Account.

    Please make sure that direct debits are a valid option on your bank card.

    Please note, that this issue may be caused by transactions being blocked due to unauthorised payments and/or too many attempts per card number, Square Enix Account or email address on a given day. One bank card cannot be used more than three times per day. If you have made two tries already, we would advise you to not try a third time, as more attempts may cause the issuing bank to block the card in order to prevent suspicious activities.

    You may have to wait anywhere from 24 hours to 30 days before trying again depending on how often you attempted to register the bank card before contacting us. Please let us know if you wish to escalate this issue to our head office for further investigation.

    In the meantime, you may wish to use either the ClickandBuy service or Square Enix Crysta.

    We are sorry for any inconvenience caused and hope that this has helped solve your issue. Please do not hesitate to contact us again if you need further assistance

    This is what, I believe, caused my problem.

    I use a prepay mastercard and even though funds are more than sufficient it won't let me set up direct debits as it is not linked to any bank account.

    Easy solution is to let people pay in advance 30, 60 etc days without going for automatic renewal, or to be not reliant on the direct debit method, I sub to Lovefilm (dunno why, lol) on same card and never had any issues.

    D.. Did they actually say to pay with Click and Buy? Rofl!!! This auto reply must be 6 months old lmao. Unless I'm missing something, that system was removed around summer. Meh.. Those of you stuck with the credit card only option should take a bit of your time to get the message out to mainstream review sites to put some pressure on Squeenix. The problem has been around since early September and they've done nothing. If we only keep posting on their forums the problem will be kept nice and quite for Squeenix. Spread the word. They don't seem to have learned their lesson after v1. They made an 'OK' relaunch and went back to their old ways. Don't forget to slap em with you wallet on the way out lol.
