Actually, I have the same problem, I'll gladly pay with Crysta as I can buy it even from stores here, I live in Japan, but I have no option for it...
Of course if you choose "Update Account Information" you find yourself in the old billing site. You can then choose About Crysta, that links to this: http://eu.square-enix.com/en/seaccount/crysta Choosing Add Crysta to Your Square Enix account takes you back to the old billing site, gives you some options for Crysta amounts to purchase, but then when you do, before asking how you want to pay, you get this:
I also live in Puerto Rico, Luis and set up my country as that in the account managemente page... They really told you to just but the game again?? What kind of customer support is this that they have no power to do anything?? That is unbelievable buy the game again lol... Are they for real???I'd like to add my experience to this thread too. I've been a customer for many years and had my account setup with Puerto Rico as country. Due to the cumbersome system SE has for registering payment method in the past I had to use Click and Buy service which was working fine, that is until SE decided to stop using said service on July 2013.
I had yet again tried to updated my payment method and was unable to add my credit card, nor purchase any crysta. After many tries and hours lost for trying and get help from support, those efforts were not fruitful, indeed I feel they don't have the ability to help whatsoever, which from my point of view are wasted company resources. I'm also owner of version 1.0 CE and was able to enjoy just a few days of the new trial, and that was it.
I believe that what is going on is that Puerto Rico being setup as a country in SE account management system, is causing trouble with the credit card validation system because it expects to be different from US. In my case, my cards are registered as US, because after all, PR is a US territory. Furthermore, being treated as a different country render us unable to purchase crysta via Paypal or other method such as the Ultimate Game Cards etc.
I suggested the support people to help me change the country from Puerto Rico to US, but they are not allowed to do so. Therefore everyone looses here. I think they should at least be able to do this once just to help set things straight, but it is not the case.
Last recommendation I got from support was to purchase the game AGAIN and register under different country. It is easy for them to say so, but I've invested time and effort that would be lost if I did that, although I was willing to do it if at least they allow me to transfer everything from my old account. The answer was still no.
It is a shame that a company this size after spending so much to do the "RIGHT" thing is hurting the faithful customers who never stop believing them and kept supporting it.
My only hope is that someone with some sense of commitment will read all this and make the right call. (yes, I still have hope).
Regards.

Same problem, but i do that and works, use the credit card to buy crysta, but in the UltimatePay option
So, no solution until now.
Anyone knows when the 30 days from 2.0 people expires ?
cept not all of us can do that i live in the US and that's not 1 of the alternate choices w/ ultimate pay
Well after trying my cards last night, then trying to do the ultiamte card thing from walmart and them no delivering it, I tried the ultimate pay to buy crysta with pay pal. That finally worked. So i'm back in game just in time to have plans this weekend and not play till at least sunday. Gah! I sure hope they get the credit card thing sorted for next month, that'd still be my prefered way to pay.
I hope that SE can find a way to help all the people still stranded. I really want this game to be one of the next big MMOs that's around for a while.
Well, this is getting more and more frustrating. After failing yesterday and waiting 24 hours, I tried this again. I made it further into the process - all the way to where it appeared to accept my 180 days auto setup (this is where I got the 601 error yesterday), but when I go to click the final button in the process which is the verify information page, now I get a 401 error, which supposedly indicates my credit card rejecting the transaction. I called my CC provider, and they attest there is no restriction on my card, and, in fact, they see the $1 test charge, yet GlobalConnect's system isn't recognizing this properly.
I find it absolutely incredulous that SE has not officially acknowledged this as an issue, and taken immediate steps with GlobalConnect to fix this problem. Um... Yoshi, people are trying to give you $$, but your financial subcontractor isn't hacking it. Furthermore, customer satisfaction is waning even further south than in FFXI due to lack of acknowledgement and communication, and the fact that your customer service is essentially non-existent.
That's how far I got yesterday and since Ultimate pay took my money for crysta then the odd man out is GlobalConnect. They are going to cost SE money and long term subs.Well, this is getting more and more frustrating. After failing yesterday and waiting 24 hours, I tried this again.
