
Every time I use my VPN to connect, it tells me that my account has been hacked and I have to go in and reset everything.I am lucky today after searching through this forum with no luck and want to share how I got it to work. I used to live in US with US credit card. After moving out of US, I try to pay with this card and keep getting 601 error. Today I try to use VPN to connect and it works! Not sure whether IP address needs to match the billing address for it to get through.
Is this the same for everyone else?

I tried using a VPN too and I still get nothing. Tried pay with 2 CCs and paypal, all denied. Both on and off a VPN. I used my subscription money to buy guilty gear on psn instead, so i guess it isn't a problem with my financial institution then, huh?

After hours upon hours of reading through various forums, i've found a fix which worked for me straight away, Like most reading this forum I was unable to register my card, or use the crysta method and square enix's support was as useful as a fart in a space suit.
So I used a VPN, It's important you find one that is the same country as your bill paying card. Pretty simple to set up following websites instructions. I just hope this helps someone who was in my unfortunate position as I moved country to Portugal from England.
Square enix certainly needs to update its Online payment system, i've never had to try so hard to give a company my money before sheesh.

I'm not surprised because I haven't actually been able to pay for my account since day 1, but I was always able to purchase crysta with paypal, so I didn't care. Now I can't even do that - the charge goes through on my end but payscan or whatever rejects the payment every single time. So now I can't pay for my account using a card or crysta. Had a friend try it for me as well with his credit card info, wouldn't work. Guess I'm not raiding this week?

Just got error 601 a few days ago. Is this seriously still an ongoing issue since september?

I went through the process for subscribing. I got confirmation fro SE that my transaction had gone through yet when I tried to log on I was told that no profile exists.
I agree that the lack of assistance is infuriating. I love the game and want to continue playing now that my trial period is over.....
I've never seen this kind of indifference to the clients!
