Wake up this morning to find myself locked out of game due to no subsrciption status, go to mogstation to check account (auto subscribe set up a while back) and yep, account is not active.
I reapply all my card details, card is checked - ok, and then get the failed transaction code 401.
Hmmm did I enter all details correctly? I'm absolutely positive I did so head to forums as something is not quite right.
48 pages of horror stories later and dmn this sucks!
Check my emails and had a failed auto renew go through at approx 2am gmt and with my latest attempt that makes 2 tries, one more and I'm locked out for 30 days!
Was it because I attempted 180 day sub and card expires Jan? Is it worth trying 30 day sub? Did I get something wrong on entry details? - seems like a few possibilities yet one more failed and Boooom! I'm gone for a month
tl;dr forgot sub, just went and got a timecard from Game.co.uk (UK resident) and practically instant delivery and now back in play.
Square, you really need to sort this mess out.
And one more thing, I noticed when applying the timecard, my characters were not showing on the account page,had to relog a couple of times to get them to show and only then did I continue with registering the time card.
would it work in Australia . and do they send the game code in your email?
No idea if it would work in Australia though I'm sure someone here would know.
Payed through paypal and once payment was processed (it took seconds) another page opened with code on. Same code was also sent to my email.
I've got two accounts, one for myself and one for my wife. Tried numerous methods like 3 different cards, and even buying crysta with paypal or cards. None of them worked. I mean it even pass Paypal fund, there's money right there why would it still have problem? Did SE put in a lock on the system after one bad try? I am getting a 401 after it accepts one of my card, and on my wife's account it just rejects all of the credit cards.
I can't contact SE as its not M-F. If this continue, SE is going to loose a lot of customer and gain some bad PR!
It does work in Australia. I just did it. Finally after 10 hrs of frustration I can log in. they need to sort this crap out.
Service is "working as intended"
Easy fix, cancel account. End of story.
please give up on all hope of SE getting their act together, the trail I have made between my bank, global collect, and SE customer support has pointed everything faulty at SE, yet their CSR's swear up and down that all of my account woes are my fault, my bank's fault, or someone else and that they can not do anything to assist me. The extra placeholder charges (1$) are my fault, misunderstanding the unclear error message that I must have input the numbers or info wrong is my fault, the 30 day account freeze for trying to double and triple and quadruple check my info is my fault, and now I only feel that buying this great game with pathetic support that only send out automated replies and when you do, by whatever miracle manage to contact live support, they attempt more to deflect fault than actually fix it...is my fault.
With this many people having issues with this, you would think that they would figure out that there is something dreadfully wrong with their system. SE has just been terrible with the technical side of this game, I wouldn't be surprised if there will be something wrong with your character once you're able to log back on.
does any one know of a way to get a game card code emailed or anything please ?

We still need a solution for regions without Crysta or Game Cards available, were all out for good if we got no other choice but CCs and getting 601/401. Is it really so hard to enable a paypal option SE? No time cards, no crysta, simple freaking paypal?

I'm curious if pointing this issue out on a couple of mainstream review sites or blogs will get the attention it needs to light a fire under SE's ass and get this issue fixed. Not sure which ones to pick, but I think if SE gets slapped hard enough with some really bad PR maybe our wallet-woes will start to matter to them.

agreed, where should we start pointing it out, I'm not too big on what sites are the heavy hitters in the gaming community anymore.D.. Did they actually say to pay with Click and Buy? Rofl!!! This auto reply must be 6 months old lmao. Unless I'm missing something, that system was removed around summer. Meh.. Those of you stuck with the credit card only option should take a bit of your time to get the message out to mainstream review sites to put some pressure on Squeenix. The problem has been around since early September and they've done nothing. If we only keep posting on their forums the problem will be kept nice and quite for Squeenix. Spread the word. They don't seem to have learned their lesson after v1. They made an 'OK' relaunch and went back to their old ways. Don't forget to slap em with you wallet on the way out lol.
