Customers will receive an error message when they attempt to register and change (switching to) credit card information to their accounts using GlobalCollect as their payment method. There will be no issues occurring due to this and will start to work regularly after the maintenance.

Seeing as how there was maintenance on GlobalCollect related to this very problem a couple weeks ago, I have major problems accepting this problem is on the customer's end.
I have also cancelled FFXI and SE has until today to sort this out, when my subscription ends on FFXI.
So, kissing FFXIV and FFXI goodbye if this is not fixed within the next 12 hours.
It is completely unacceptable that they cannot properly receive payment and punish the customer.

SE - Are you going to respond to this issue, or acknowledge there is a problem, and effect a fix it? This is not only affecting a small group of customers. I got the 601 message first attempt, and you're telling me it's a browser or network issue? Of course I'm playing this game from a private network, just like most everyone else. I'm using the same computer, same browser, same credit card I used (successfully) when I first started playing FFXIV back in 2010. Maybe it's just not registering with you, but there are many, many customers, me included, threatening to not play your game because of this issue. Calling or contacting your totally unacceptable customer service department (read that absolute worst I've ever encountered) to get help with this is not even an option, as I have no intention of sitting on hold, or waiting in chat que for hours, or waiting days for an email response, only to find out they cannot offer an ultimate solution for this issue. Customers are lining up to give you $$, and somehow, you've managed to roadblock the process. Absolutely, beyond belief.
I find this concerning. My husband's and my free trial will be up in a few weeks. I wonder if the problem will be fixed then, if not it will defiantly be more than a few people having this issue. Fix the problem now SE.......
Yeah...I don't think this problem will be solved by the time my free trial ends..SE has been rather quiet about it.
Posting in this thread too; I bought 180 days (for the rewards) to play this game with my fiancée when we get home from work. After I purchased that for myself, my fiancée tried to do the same thing, but is riddled with 401/601 on three DIFFERENT cards which we've never had problems with before.
She's attempting to contact support for a third time at this point, so hopefully she gets a good rep (lol). Meanwhile, here I am wasting my FF14 days because I can't play with the person I bought the game to play WITH. This is absurd, just take our money already.
Support told her to wait a week or two and try again. Supposedly they were nice, but they don't have the power to do anything. So basically I have to waste ~14 days of my 180 on top of the 2-3 I've wasted already because of this. SE, you need to talk to your card authenticating service as of two days ago.

I'm giving them til the end of the month to make some kind of announcement regarding this problem to at least show they're aware of it. If they don't have anything by then I'm going to cut my losses and movie. Not sure if SE will get enough bad publicity by then or not though.
I think this only got solved when the 20 days from people who bought 2.0 end. Them it will be a huge shit storm here.
