Please stop queuing for Garuda HM without appropriate gear...

I can't believe I am even making this post... I like to play endgame in MMO's but have always tried to keep myself from being a self righteous elitist and am always willing to spend whatever time it takes to help a newbie learn a fight.

But the situation with Garuda HM is just out of control...

Constantly I zone in and examine the rest of the group and find people that haven't upgraded their jewelry since Halatali... Wearing level 32 belts... Using level 40 weapons... The list goes on...

Not saying you need full darklight or 90 gear to succeed in this fight. Thats not it at all. You do however need gear appropriate to the level... This is a level 50 raid! It is supposed to come after you have gotten at least a few pieces of level 50 dungeon gear.

So please stop causing frustration for yourself and those you are forcing yourselves upon. Do the basics at least to get ready.

The upcoming gear restrictions will filter out the trolls, that's specifically what they're being implemetned for. I doubt you'll be required to have anything special, but it will filter out people with gear that's waaaaaay behind their level.

Heck bikinis would be a step up from what I have seen today... I had healers queueing in level 1 RSE...

Those are the obvious trolls though. There are tons of people who aren't doing it to troll. They seem to think they are ready, but they most certainly are not.

Hopefully Square sets something to where you cannot change out of that gear level range within the dungeon. IE item level 60 gear
requirement and you try to put on item level 10 gear: DENIED. At least then the most the trolls can do is put on Item level 60 whites,
which is still better than bikinis. Lol.

gear restrictions mean nothing if you can swap below the threshold after. I think the restrictions will prevent you from swapping into gear that would drop you below the threshold.

I know I'm nitpicking about semantics, but GarudaHM, IfritHM, and other 8-person content aren't raids. They're just regular full party trials.

But I do agree with the OP, however. The gear I've seen on some people for Ifrit/Garuda HM and AK is atrocious.

I agree in a way. People generally don't understand the difficulty jump from Ifrit to Garuda because Ifrit is ridiculously easy and they get the Garuda quest right afterwards. That and the added temptation of how much better the weapon drops are people will just naturally queue for garuda minutes after killing ifrit.

My recommendation is to not do Garuda through the DF. I do however hope they add ILevel requirements for encounters Garuda and harder because I agree people should not be running end game content in gear that is clearly not made for lvl 50 content. There really is no excuse for people running around in lvl 30 gear expecting others to carry them through content, not when we all know you have plenty og gil to at the least get acceptable accessories. Call me elitist but if I see you with a lvl 30 ring or belt in Garuda I have no respect for you.

At this point I pretty much completely avoid DF especially for content passed Ifrit, it just isn't worth the wait and/or the frustration dealing with these people. With that said however I don't condone griefing these people or attacking them in chat, there is nothing wrong with giving suggestions or trying to help people but be nice about it, besides being in that situation you have to admit that you were the one that decided to use the DF too and know that anyone else could do the same.

agreed. But while I knew full well that I might encounter said people that doesn't mean that I shouldn't try to enlighten them. I try to remain civil and say, "hey you aren't ready to do this. If you need help figuring out how to get ready feel free to look me up". Unfortunately most of the people just don't even listen to this advice and I see them right back in there after the run fails and people queue again.
