Potency is not a great way to evaluate this, though. Shadow Flare is 25 potency but it ticks for the same damage as Bio, which is 40 potency.

The entire point of potency is to act as a 'lowest common denominator' so it can be evaluated like this. Shadow Flare is just an exception; the tooltip is either a typo or it's a separate damage source, which would make sense considering it isn't affected by Raging Strikes.


@Crescent_Dusk: Fair point about Bane, but was referring mostly to single-target fights.
