Leveling a main class with your main sub class

I was told if you get bard at 30 and continue to play archer, your bard levels with your archer.

If summoner and scholar share arcanist, when you hit lvl 50 on the arcanist, will you have a lvl 50 summoner and scholar?

Correct. Technically it works by the Jobs do not have xp at all. Gaining xp on either the Scholar or Summoner, for example, says "You gain xxx arcanist xp."

That's pretty interesting. I've never really thought about it much before, since most of the other classes only have one job.
