Item Clarification...

Hello y'all. I had a few questions I was hoping to get cleared up about the item icons in my inventory. It seems a bit different here in ff14arr than in the mmo's i have played in the past.

1) What are the colored dots on the upper right hand corner of the item icon's picture in my inventory? I mostly see it with gear in the armor chest.

2) Today while running my first instance (Satasha?) I was lucky enough to be awarded two pieces of gear. One of them has a pink background in the item picture and the item's name is in a pink font (It's a short-bow) and another was a set of gloves with a green background and green font . I assume these are levels of rarity but you know what assuming gets you.

1) The dots in the corners signify what color that item is, and as to whether you can dye it or not. If there is no dot, you cannot change the color of that item.

2) That's actually correct, lol. Greens are normally just below pink/purples.

Minor addendum: Greens are actually superior to pinks, but belows blues (and purples). Greens are the typical unique loot drop that you expect to find in dungeons in any MMO, and pinks are normal items of that level which substitute materia slots for a couple random stat bonuses.
