Summoned pets disappear way too close

Summoned pets in this game have a terrible max distance. I find my self constantly resummoning my pet because I'm commanding him to attack mobs while I focus another target/avoid aoe attacks and he ends up getting too far away from me and disappears.

Does anyone else think this is a problem? Maybe if summons were instant cast if this happened it would be better.

So, no one else thinks summoned pets disappear way too early? After playing other mmos the pets in this game literally vanish half the distance.

I agree. My girlfriend recently started playing a ACN/SCH and her Carby/fairy disappears for whatever and whenever. She's ALWAYS re-summoning those dumb things. It's pretty damn annoying.

I am sure this this issue can ACTUALLY be fixed pretty easily, right Yoshida? Right?

Don't wanna hear any of that "hardware" or "memory" limitation crap now!

No one can blame memory as in XI you can be quite a distance from your pet before it starts following you rather than disappearing. Basically they vanish if you're "sacrificing" it to something, as in you catch aggro and it chase it and attack it while you continue on your way, otherwise I've never seen attacking pets vanish just because you swap targets, woulda made the final SMN fight damn near "impossible" if it did lol.

Never was an issue for me, but I do hate it in leves when my pet keeps attacking a pacified enemy.

The game automatically disengage the player, but it doesn't cover the AI for enemies who are no threat? Lazy programming.

Oh well, nothing you can't solve with repeatedly spamming heel.

I think it depends honestly, it seems to be finicky at times but if I sleep/Bind/Pacify a target generally all but Ifrit would disengage and not attack them anymore unless the monster got off an attack as I pacify it - so I think it's more of something that needs refinement since they definitely do disengage as they should.

I want to say I experienced this in Ifrit HM or something... My Garuda-Egi was at full HP, but then I look and suddenly she's gone after I had to run across the arena.

That seems like it would be really stupid, though, right? For summons to be able to disappear in a primal fight due to distance? I would figure they would code their auto-Away to be less than the diameter of a primal fight.
