    Stuttering Issue

    Hello!

Since the release version of FFXIV I'm getting a stuttering issue. I've got no lag and my FPS is almost always at 60, even in towns with lots of people. The stuttering is more intense in open areas and less noticeable in instances. What can be happening? Any idea would be appreciated

PS: All my drivers are up to date!

    System Specs:
    Windows 7 64 bits
    Intel Core i5-2500 3.30GHz
    HD Radeon 6800 series 1GB
    8 GB RAM

It could be a hard drive issue. Stuttering of that nature sometimes occur when the game is loading info from the drive or page file. Also the drive may need to be defragged. BTW what kind of HD do you have? Is it a raid setup?

It is an HD SATA 1TB, WD10EARS-00Y5B1 (only information I know). IDK the rpm but I do know that it's already deffraged. I do believe it's a raid setup, it was a friend of mine who configured everything for me, so

Do you have a bunch of background apps running while you are in the game?

You don't have enough video RAM. Recommended for max settings is 2GB.

I don't know if they are running it on max settings but if so turning it down a notch couldn't hurt.

Speaking of defrag, any good, free defrag programs out there that lets you sit and watch the graph/process. Windows vista one is crap. And has no CHKDSK ability and i cant checkdisk in the dos window as the registry for that got zapped when the power died (battery was getting replaced and we lost power) so now it wont let me enable it again.

Try defraggler from piriform.com. it has a nice graph like the old days.

That HDD is a 5400 RPM one btw. I would look into getting one that's at least 7200RPM for your next upgrade.

I run on High (desktop) setup which was the default configuration btw, and even if i put graphics to the ground, like Standard (laptop), I still get the stuttering. No programs running on background
