Everyone thought paid retainers and fantasia would be the end of it.
You were warned.
Cash shop in, TrystWildkey out.
What's LEGACY servers 1.0 shard stock got to do with non-legacy servers bleeding shards super fast and having to melee farm or buy from RMT botters and thus indirectly supporting them.

Everyone has access to shards starting at level one mining and botany. Level your main to 10 and get your gathering job and go get your shards and stop complaining. If your too lazy to farm your shards the go visit the market, find a friend to work a deal with, or don't craft. This is nothing new to the final fantasy mmo series. Level ones could farm shards as any class in XI...for that matter shards just fell into your inventory for killing monsters while you level up. Xiv lets you get shards as level one and its just as easy as XI was. The rtm's are trying the shard market true, so don't buy from them. If the Market looks suspiciously like an rtm is selling something, buy from a legit player.
So play the darn gathering class. Its not like you need to level them up much at all for shards. She's saying in general. Right now, there's no reliable way for anyone except gathering classes to get shards/crystals/clusters.
As a gatherer I'd rent myself, but no way would it be less than 20K an hour as I can make that quite comfortably.
I'm more than happy to gather Shards for coin (even if I'm getting no XP) but there are much better mats to gather. It seems that always find something I can sell at 200 gil or more per unit, a least for now.
I'm just saying that if you're short of gil, it's easy to gather and your coin will quickly recover. In the mid twenties as a botanist you can level on the crystals and collect shards at the same time at nodes where the crystals don't pop.
You are making an assumption that is simply not true. I sometimes gather too much of an item and then find the price has crashed which forces me to sit on stock, as soon as the number of sellers starts to drop and the prices go up I will sell full stacks to maximise my return as quickly as possible.RMT's are the sole providers of shards on the market, you should just go farm them yourselves, avoid at all costs buying them from the market!!
Or if you truly are that lazy, buy from the ones that only have a few forsale, or only a stack, don't buy form those that sell more than 3-4 stacks of 100, that's a certified RMT bot-company
I actually enjoy gathering which I know some people find odd, but then I find the thought of Fate grinding pretty odd. Some people are fast tracking their levels whilst I'm having fun making coin. Although I've seen many bots I'm sure on Cerberus that there are far more real-players gathering than bots.
The highest amount of shards you will ever use in a craft is 6. All you have to do is start a gathering class and...ohwait, that's literally ALL you have to do to gather shards of ANY type. START a DoL class and go hit stuff with an object. GG.

If RMT is reduced to selling level 1 items that have an infinite supply in the game, I'd say SE has already won.
this x 100!
someone mentioned it in another thread that these seem to follow this:
x is needed for y
i don't want to do y
i want y
therefore i should be able to get y without doing x.
complaining you can't gather without a gathering class is like complaining you have to be close to the enemy when playing a melee class.
and you hear this argument too:
"in most mmos the gathering class is unimportant"
and i feel that is what these people want, they want the gatherer and crafters to be completely irrelevant, they want to gather with combat classes and get all gear they need with combat classes and do everything with nothing but combat classes.

I mined 2 k shards per day 500 each round takes me 40-50 mins. It is so easy. Just pop some dungeons in between. Or you can kill those wind/fire/snow spirits for shards. Why some ppl are just so lazy?
