Last time I checked, if you haven't equipped that job before you can't " recruit " them. I could be using it wrong, and correct me if i'm wrong. And I know that they were wanting everyone to level all of them, but if im working on 2-4 jobs, why should I have to buy other classes weapons just to search for the job? Also, FFXIV's party....thing is just way to detailed if you want to party quickly. How does FFXI's take longer? If there was adequate amounts of people LFP, I could make a group in five mins give or take. Need people from a specific nationality in FFXIV for a quest? Well good luck. Specific race? Nope. Job? Hopefully they have the right group for what that job is wanting to do.

And sea all/ you could customize what you're looking for in mere seconds. sea all/ pld, sea all/ elv, sea all/ lvl 20, ect.
There's no way FFXIV's party whatever you wanna call it even compares to how easy it was to find exactly who you
were looking for in FFXI. Just saying.

I'd honestly be happy with a mix of the two.

It needs to be simplified in this manner:

Looking for a group to join:
    1) Open Party menu
    2) Select "Join a Party!"
    3) Select your role and rank.
    4) Select the kind of party you want (leves, grinding, quests, even crafting searches)
    5) Add additional search function if you want to seek on multiple classes and ranks
    6) Option to show your current leves, wanted craft and recipe, or quest information (simple pop up tooltip with all 8 named leves, and their location, nothing too obstructive)
    7) Begin seeking! (Your flag is up, an icon next to your name or in your buff bar shows you as seeking a group, icon could be dynamic depending on what you are seeking too.
7a) Open Party menu > Search for current groups seeking members - shows you all current searching groups in the game and information on what they are seeking for

    Creating a party:
    1) Open Party menu
    2) Select "Start a Party!"
    3) Select criteria for party - Ranks, function (leves, grinding, quests and crafting too)
    4) Option to seek for a specific class
    5) Note option to show people what your party plans
    6) Option to show your current active leves without having to use the auto translate, simple pop up tooltip listing the leve name and camp would be enough
    7) Begin recruiting! (A star could appear as an icon next to your name to let others know you are currently seeking for a group).
7a) Once you are recruiting, open Party menu to select "Manual Search" to show everyone either withing level range, or every player with their flag up, allowing you to pluck and choose, and send tells to the people seeking, however with the auto-invite (which I love), this might not always be needed.

These are very simple functions, that would massively improve the current clunky party interface. There really is no need to over complicate everything SqaureEnix, sometimes a simple step is needed, as at the moment, I have not once been successful using recruitment for more than 2 members.

Also, a simple /search function command would do wonders, as currently, unless you are in visual range of anyone, there is no way to determine where they are in the world, what level they are, or class. Also, add their rank next to their name, and possibly the class icon too. You have no idea how annoying it is to join a Behest, get to the first group, only to find everyone spamming Sacrifice II and no damage spells, as you got 8 Thaumaturges.

A little more clarity helps to organise and plan, and allows you to prepare better for situations.

That sounds 5 times as complicated as the current party search/recruit system is.
