If you think the game you are playing now is flawless: You guessed it, you are a white knnight

Do the following qualify for knighthood?

Attacking people who post an unreasonable complaint or suggestion? Completely disregarding human/hardware/software/time/physics and speed of light limitations?
Defending an unpopular game function that actually serves a purpose when taken together with how the whole of the game's mechanics work together?
If I don't necessarily think the game is flawless, but am enjoying myself immensely while playing it, and understand that NOTHING is perfect when it is first available? Also understanding that the amount of work they've done already is staggering and should be appreciated?

That's ignoring the fact that those standards basically say "If you don't agree with me, you're bad."

IMO When a customer defends X company about that companies errors and mistakes than that is a white knight.

For example the error 401 and 601 is not a customer error is Square enix error
And people Still defends this ? That's a white knight.

When you see the general Shout Blatantly hijacked from gamers by gill sellers and Square don't do anything about it and people defend it? That's a White knight

When we report boots and hackers and Square don't do anything about it, and people defend it? That's a White knight

So if you after seeing all the boots , the gill selling SHOUT (not even whisper) SHOUT and Square not doing anything about it and you defend this, then you sir are a White Knight.
It's clear isn't it?

Except that all those people defending SE is because SE has ALWAYS been doing something about it. I'm sorry that you don't read any official posts but they have been banning hundreds of accounts, been implementing chat filters on a constant basis and ffs there is basic game design in place to try to combat them from the get go.

I mean seriously.. Use a little reason if SE was doing nothing why do I keep having to add more to my blacklist? Maybe because the others are banned? Also you can check out an interview in Reinharts translation thread about what SE has been doing about it. Apparently (as we all know) they are persistent little buggers and are circumventing SEs continual chat filters just as continually by using strange characters and the like.

I am not a white knight i just enjoy the game and realize the people currently working on it love the game and have put their hearts into it so i will support it, i can live with issues i understand they will fix them in fact they have in many cases resolved many of the issues that plagued the game at start.

i am not defending the company but the devs i do get the feeling they really care about this game and have put their all into this, if you can't understand that well i won't try to convince you because that's not even worth the effort some would rather complain because thats all they do in life bounce from one game to another and constantly complain about everything in most cases it is valid this is the first game where the devs truly show love for mmo's and the players they are working to please.

On the Subject of billing issue's i had no problem was billed correctly never got an error msg and have my 90 day rewards, so guess by me saying that it makes me a bad guy according to those who have had issues.

Personally, I think the term "White Knight" is mostly used to dismiss someone's positive argument about a topic. Its a way to ignore any good points someone might make about something that they enjoy.

Alternately, I think the term "Troll" is used in the same manner. Its a way to dismiss someones distaste for something. When people call another a troll, there are times where they make good points but then they are dismissed as a troll so as not to be taken seriously. Rokien comes to mind. As much as I disliked the way he phrased things he did have some valid points on occasion.

Granted there are times where either label does apply, some people like to get a rise out of others so they knowingly say something that will "stir the pot" (SSM comes to mind). And there are times where people will defend something to the death because they are either emotionally invested in the topic or they see things through a distorted lens with blinders on, ignoring any and all evidence to the contrary.

Either way, There is more to a person than what can be gleaned from a single post. While I may seem the white knight in some aspects, I am not without my share of complaints. There are things I would like to see changed and things I'm content with. Above all, I believe its not what you are saying but how you say it. The one thing I cannot stand are people being unnecessarily cruel, rude, abrasive, or refuse to hold a dialogue in which ideas are shared and listened to. If all you are going to do is defend your position (positive or negative) even in the face of good evidence to the contrary or just outright ignore it, then what is the point of even saying anything in the first place.
