The people saying they miss FFXI mobs, well, in FFXI grinding out in exp parties was the only way to lvl up, so of course those were harder. Open world mobs in FFXIV are intended for you to go out and kill solo, which is why the ones in dungeons are much stronger.

I don't know if I would want to do an exp party like this, maybe once or twice for nostalgia's sake, but I'd probably get bored doing the one thing over and over (plus, it'd need a lvl sync more like XI's) but, I'm all for it if people wanted to do it. It would give another way for people to lvl up. Although I'd more prefer leves and dungeons (particularly dungeons) have their xp rewards boosted to make them more worthwhile than fates.

My FC formed a full party over the weekend on level 1 jobs and proceeded to just blitz through everything on the field, while stopping at the occasional FATE. We went from 1-15 in 2 hours. It was pretty fun, but I wouldn't want to do this as a primary form of leveling. It started getting really slow after level 10.

4 person team could easily take on adds 5 - 10 levels higher and get pretty high in the chain numbers which was how you were ment to exp party grind anyway

If you want to grind "tough" mobs there's this thing called a "dungeon"

For 1/4 the exp/hour of fates and still easy enemies that pose no threat and require no strategy besides bosses. Thanks for your insightful input.

Just going to point out, if you don't count the time spent in a queue, the lower lvl dungeons are pretty good for exp. I decided to lvl my thm, did a copperbell run with it. I was getting up to 800 exp a kill, I did manage a 1066 exp from a gigas at one point. I almost got 2 lvls off that 1 run. Lately I've tried doing fates as my thm, but half the time I'm waiting on them to start for 5+ minutes

Rested exp and dungeons are actually better than normal fates. Aka the ones you dont get 30k exp for 15 minutes of your time
