Need help: "Request Meld" not showing up

Usually when you right click on a crafter, on the pop up window there is a "Request Meld" option. If the crafter doesn't meet the requirements, the option is simply greyed out, right?

But for me, the "Request Meld" option doesn't even show up on my pop up window. I tried relogging, I tried switching jobs, nothing works. Anyone know how to fix this?

Do the quest you should have done in the storyline which teaches you how to convert stuff to materia.

Go back to Mutamix in Central Thanalan.

I think I might have confused you. I'm not a crafter, I'm trying to get another crafter to meld stuff for me. >.>

You don't need to be a crafter for the materia quest. Everyone needs to do the materia quest or you can't convert or have stuff melded. Anyone can make materia, it's not made by crafters. Making materia is part of the armory system. I'd reckon you didn't do the quest, so you can't meld your stuff so it doesn't show up for you.

Ohh ok, got it. Just went to do the quest and now the option shows up. Ty all.
