Add voip (voice communication) to parties

Some late game stuff is almost impossible with a duty finder pug team. Things might become a little more doable if parties could speak to each other rather than having to type. Especially when a person is trying to explain a dungeon or boss to someone who's new to it.

Of course a mute feature needs to be implemented alongside of it

Yes please. In game VOIP is a must. We can make do with programs like C3 and Mumble, but in game VOIP would make it a LOT easier.

There's VOIP in world of warcraft, has been for years and no-one ever used it.
Don't really see the point of an in-game voip since almost no-one uses it in any game that has it.

You forget that this game is on PS3 too and that community is more used to using verbal communication to help with teamwork. I believe this option would certainly be used a lot more.

Unfortunately this also means that a handful of people will use that way as a means to troll or further screw with parties. It's bad enough that there are a handful of people queuing instances solely to fail the instance or ruin things for lols. While it might be good for static groups and whatnot, when you're dealing with PUGs the potential to just annoy everyone else and make them carry you through the instance while having your character on follow and while you scream obscenities the whole time is just too great.

We need a way for parties to kick members before anything like this should be added.

    This.

LOTRO has it too, had it from launch IIRC, and likewise few use it. Fact is, those who would use it don't PUG, or at least do their 'serious' grouping in guild groups.

I still want VOIP, but Vagrant raises a good point. We definitely need a way for the party leader to kick people from the party. And I menat party leader. Because giving the power to kick people from the party to everyone in the party would just cause the same problems.

Ok, so there should be an option to mute certain people or some kind of private chat just to be helpful for those that would actually use it for what it was meant for.

At the very least, linkshells should include some form of voice chat.
