Here's my new Lalafell, Yew.
I have to say, while its interesting to play a Lalafell again after almost a year, I am not sure if he'll stick. :/
While he's certainly cute, it comes at the price of me not seeing what I'm doing half the time, and I'm not sure I'm digging it. I never really noticed this on my first character (who is a Lalafell), but now that I've played Miqo for a year it's hard to get used to it again.
It also doesn't help that half the time, he isn't even in the frame; most NPCs just stare awkwardly into nothingness, which feels a bit wierd. xD
I guess I'm gonna give him another few days to see if i can get used to him again (or at least used to enough to get him through MSQ; if not, I'll just use him as retainer or something.
That said, he already did something positive for me: Not 2 hours into playing him, I started missing my Main, despite me making an Alt specifically to get away from Arc (and his annoying clippy Tail).
So Yew, wether he will be shortlived or not, at least gave me a newfound appreciation of my Main, which I didn't think would happen. ^^

*nods* The low to the ground camera angle isn't for everyone. For my part, I cannot play a tall character. The camera view messes me up to the point where I often experience motion sickness from it. *laughs*

Oh, that must suck. <.<
The worst problem I have with taller characters that I find the faceoptions kinda stupid xD
I just tried that and apparetly it was already sitting at 40, though I can't remember changing it. If i crank it up any further I run into the issue taht i can't see my characters feet anymore, which is bad for dodging (my bars are relatively big due to my bad eyesight) and when I zoom out enough for that not to be an issue I instead have trouble seeing my character properly - which is also bad for dodging.
Was worth a try though, so thanks for the tip. ^^
I gotta say though these issues are absolutely hilarious to me, because I can't remember having them when I played Lalafell before; which either means something has changed with the camera ingame or I just went absolutely blind over the past Year (probably the latter ._.)

*snerk* *snerk* Bwahahaha!
Ahem.
Reading more about your camera issue, how close is your camera to your character? When I have to be aware of where I'm standing, I have my camera pulled back so I can see all the floor/ground.
Yes, laugh, cause its funny xD I mean, most of the faces on taller races (ay, that rhymes) look either angy for no reason or dead inside. And the ones that do look friendly/gentle are usually 'old'.
Is it to much to ask for a nice, young, gentle looking face?
Depends, really. If I really have to dodge something, I'd usually zoom out as far as I can, but if I zoom to far I have trouble seeing the character because he's so tiny and precious. All of the flashy animations don't help either. (But I don't wanna turn them of, how boring would that be?) And if I don't zoom enough I have problems judging wether I'm out of the AoE or not because of the camera angle.
There seems to be a sweetspot, but finding it is... hard.
