Security Tokens for Smart Phones

But it seems to me to be a topic beyond the scope of website/forum feedback, since the token ties into game and account logins.

Blizzard was able to put their authenticator on smart phones. It is convenient, and free. Easy to get and use. I can see a lot of accounts becoming more secure that wouldn't have otherwise considered a token.

Square-Enix, Please make a Mobile App for the iPhone and Android phones!

Yes please great idea, I would be less likely to lose my phone than security token and even if I did you should be able to redownload the app and confirm how I am somehow.

This would be nice and even if they decided to put a $.99 pricetag onto it.
Given the widespread use of iOS (iPhone, iPad Touch, iPad) and Android devices (phones, tablets, netbooks), there's no reason this shouldn't be considered. EDIT: Blackberry too, I guess...
They'll get less complaints regarding being hacked, and less people will need to deal with the headache that is SE support.
Of course, this wouldn't fall under the scope of the FFXIV team as it encompasses Members accounts. No loss in dev time, more secure accounts? It's a win/win.

Would be nice for my Android. Also something that links my character data and retainer data to phone so I can see what sold.. :O

Oh wait they had that in WoW so can't do it here cause "OMG WOW CLONE".

I agree, then I wouldn't have to worry about my token's battery dying or losing it. One of my friends who plays WoW told me about how Blizzard's done it and I think it's a pretty decent idea, it would definitely help more than hurt.

The battery life of a token is about the same as a computer bios battery they can last a very long time.
