    Hard Mode Primal reward ideal

    While on another post I was thinking about the Primal fight.

    So far the rewards are 1 random weapon and a small amount of Philosophy and Mythology tomes. Why not provide something a but more unique while still keeping the current rewards.

    Primal Hard Mode can

    - Provide 1 Primal Specific Token by default to all members of the group (dead and alive) for defeating the HM Primal. EVERYONE will get 1 for defeating the HM Primal.

    - Defeating the HM Primal will still provide the 1 random Primal Specific Weapon from the chest. However, the chances from a specific weapon will increase as new class and Jos are introduced due to SE's plans for future class and Jobs. (Current weapon drop chance is a 1 out of 9 but introduction to new jobs and classes in the future we are looking at the drop chance changing into 1 out of 18 chance in the future due to introduction of 2nd jobs to the current classes that don't have them yet and musketeer introductions). Tome rewards are still the same or may be increase if SE feels like it.

    - There will be other special items you can get by trading the Primal Tokens. For example, you can trade in the Ifrit tokens for Ifrit Job Specific weapon (if you're still having horrible luck after countless tires), Unique Job specific Ifrit Armor set, Ifrit Mini-pet, or special items for crafting Primal Unique items.

    (I just call them tokens since I don't know what SE will call them.)

    I don't know why the high level dungeons dont drop tokens now, If you spend enough time running Ifrit and never get a weapon at least let us buy the weapon with tokens. It might make people run them more often to collect tokens for alts too, make Titan weapons a little more usefull.

    Well this just came up when seeing the issue with Primal weapon Drop chance only getting worse as new classes and Job becoming released in the future. There is also the issue of no incentive into going back to the Primal Fights other than Primal Weapon and Relic quest.

    Introduction some kind of token system to provide more than just Primal weapons for people who have horrible luck such as unique Primal Armor sets may bring people back into HM Primal for the look or stats. Other stuff are Mini- Primal pets for collectors who collect Mini-pets, and Unique Primal Craft items for crafting unique things for crafters. There needs to be more reason to go back to HM Primals other than making people pull their hair out fora 1 out of 9 chance for their weapons and one time experience for Relic.

    The reason I won't bother with Primals after the first defeat/relic is because of this.

    They need to buff myth tomes so less people are spamming AK all the time.

    So am I hearing this correctly...when your party fights HM Primals it only drops 1 weapon for the 8 players? So you could fight and beat it 8 times and still not get a weapon?? If you have two from the same job then you have an even worse chance. Oh boy...how many tries is it on average taking people to get the weapons???

    You're seeing the drop chance calculation the wrong way.

    You're seen it as that a weapon drops for 8 people but it is based on dropping for 9 Jobs.

    Assuming the Weapon is dropped for 8 people is like assuming that the drop weapon is based on what Job the 8 people are playing.

    It is not how the drop chance works since the drop chance is based on the amount of Jobs are currently in the game. We're not talking about a 1 out of 8 chance for weapons but a 1 out of 9 chance times the amount of people who play the same Job and future drop chance is decreased as new classes and Jobs are introduced.

    By roles currently we have a minimum average of

    Tank - 1 to 18 attempts minumum (2 Tank Jobs currently)

    DD - 1 to 54 attempts minimum (6 DD Jobs currently)

    Healer - 1 to 18 attempts minumum (2 Healers Jobs currently)

    Maximum is unknown since people can still run over 60 times or higher and still not get it.

    I couldn't agree more with this thread, having an incentive other than "It might drop" would really make HM primals 100% more enjoyable because right now giving 100% effort for 0% gain over and over is really disheartening, being road blocked because of drop rates is a kick to the mouth especially when you've ran the primal 70+ times, I spent 6 days straight farming Ifirit and by the time the harpoon dropped I wasn't even excited I was just happy I could move on.

    So even if you have 8 different jobs in the fight it could drop a weapon for a job that is not in the fight? That just sucks...what a pain in the butt. Do that hard fight and it drops the damn weapon that nobody needs. Guess you have to covet that weapon when you get it and enjoy all the hard work. Where are these people again that say this game is not "Hard Core" enough for them...some of this end game stuff is just getting rediculous.
    On the other hand the Primal could "in theory" keep dropping the Tank weapon or the Black mage staff over and over...patience will have to kick in. The one good thing is you will be MASTER of that fight by then and can take other FC members through that need help.


    I would really love to see numbers on the average numbers of times someone has to do that fight in order to get their weapn. I know everyone is going to be running with their FC groups so you are going to be running it at least 8 times if you get supremely lucky and if not who knows how many times...and then do that for each primal...game is not going to run out of content any time soon...there is way too much stuff to do...I LOVE IT!!!!!! Although I will not be saying that when I am going through it...I will be swearing in my mind and gripping that controller.

    Master or not the chances of the weapon you want dropping will become harder as the game becomes older and introduce more classes and Jobs. Drop rate now is light since the game is currently limited only 9 Jobs but once they start adding the others, like the 2nd Jobs for current classes that don't have 2nd job yet and new classes with their own 2 Jobs, we are facing a much larger low chance of drop.
