Arcanist and Marauder will put you in the same city as Rogue so you can pick it up as soon as you hit level 10

Or....start in Ul'dah or Gridania, join a Free Company with a house in the Mist, level to 10 in whatever your starting class was (takes perhaps an hour may be a little longer), teleport to your FC house, and walk over to Limsa - you won't get here otherwise until you have an airship ticket. Become a Rogue. Job done. Personally I love the CNJ cross class skills for playing classes, and PUG might work well with Rogue.

That trick works really well with Alts as well, you only need to be in the FC long enough to jump to La Noscea and walk to Limsa. After that the world is your oyster.
