You're right, AFK characters have absolutely 0 impact on the server. You got me! Boy, how silly am I?
Rendering 30 active characters as compared to 30 active + 80 AFK makes no difference.

how ELSE do you know someone is afk for more then the 30mins afk timer unless you ARE sitting there staring at them for more then 30mins?

AND

the server is DESIGNED to render ALL those characters, afk or not, and server load is just FINE otherwise you would not be able to LOG IN because the server load would be at MAX!!!
