Because that is an ass move, he tried to help.
On topic: How do you leave the dungeon and actually remove yourself from the party so they can find a replacement? I have never left a dungeon but had somebody "gotta go" last night and he just disconnected so I couldnt remove him from the party.
Can you click on duty finder to leave the group yourself? So they can replace you if you have to leave?
I don't think they have a kick function.
Even if you leave don't they give you a 15 min timer?
I know there is no kick yet. What I'm wondering is I wanted to leave a group but make it so they could replace me, can I do that?
Kinda.
If you left, the only way they will get another person who is queing for the dungeon is if they ticked the "Existing party" thing.
Yes - using /leave opens the spot up to be filled by DF while just going offline, the game seems to eventually kick off line members but I can't tell if it is time based or what.
Personally now that you know how long it takes I would say never join one unless you know you have time to complete it.
For example if you have 90 minutes to play and you know a duty takes 60 minutes than after 30 minutes you should cancel your duty finder.
Lets be honest, whats the point of running a dungeon if you cant finish.
All that being said, if I was to start a dungeon with limited time I would let the party members know as soon as I joined, if they asked me to leave because of it I would.
Surprising them with "oops I gotta go" and then bouncing is pretty crappy.
If you need to leave a dungeon then please say something - anything - to the other members of the group. Something is always better than nothing. Also please use the /leave command in order to leave the party before you logout. The party will then be able to pick up someone else from the duty finder providing that they tick the box to join a party in progress. When I have played as a healer I have joined several parties halfway or more through the dungeon this way when their other healer left. In one case the party really needed talking through the dungeon and the DD characters reminded to not engage until the tank actually has the aggro - I guess the other healer left in frustration but had not actually tried to explain things first. After a simple explanation it was much better until the end boss but that's another story![]()

Only the first player who leaves will get 15 minutes penalty and frankly I think it's too soft seeing tanks leaving left and right on Ifrit "because there's no BLM" ... I'd put a strict 90 minutes (= full time of the dungeon) penalty to those to make them think twice about leaving. It would not impact anyone who needs to genuinly leave for IRL reasons and those "dungeon hoppers" will be discouraged to do so.
