The load times in between cutscenes on the ps3 are legitimately atrocious. I don't waste time skipping and I've been 1 sec away from being locked out of a boss fight on numerous occasions, and I've also missed many elevators. Its a good 10 seconds longer than pc unless maybe you've upgraded your ps3 with an SSD.

This is the internet. What does something being OK have to do with it? I didn't say it was OK, and I don't care if it is. Hell, I might even think it isn't, but nobody would care if I did. If you want to get it done and want to watch the cut scenes and be left alone, take the advice thrown around here daily and run it with friends or your FC, not strangers. You "expect" people to wait for you, they "expect" you to skip the cut scenes, those two things don't square, neither side gives any weight to the other person's point of view or cares, everyone loses. Sounds great. Either SE freezes people in place while others watch the CSs and then the issue is resolved by force, you run it with friends and then people respect your CS time, or you watch it all later in your inn room. Reality isn't going to hammer itself into the shape you'd like it to be, adjust. This type of nonsense makes me ever so slightly angry. I'm ruining your story experience? Seriously? Why should I care, you're ruining my farm run? Oh... wait... my time doesn't matter, fuck me and all the farm run people. Their few minutes are worth less than your few minutes. Makes sense. I'm not saying I'm right, I don't really care or need to be. Know this though, you sure the hell aren't either.

If you're using the DF to attempt to speed run CM, then you're in the running for Worst Human Being 2013.

If you're joining a speed run CM and want to watch the cutscenes, you're also in the running for Worst Human Being 2013.

Well if they "fixed" it so you have to wait for everyone's cutscenes, no one would queue QM anymore and have fun with your QM queues at that point.

Your few minutes ARE worth less than their few minutes though. You've completed the dungeon and had a chance to experience the story. Newcomers haven't. You may not be aware of this, but Final Fantasy is a fairly story-focused game and many people playing through the first time are going to want to see this story unfold as its happening. Complaining is essentially going to a movie marathon ending in a premiere, and then saying "All of you who want to watch the first few movies are just holding up everyone of us who want to see the premiere".

Newcomers deserve to be able to experience the story as it was intended. If you want to speed run and farm, form a party, but don't get angry that people are trying to experience the game as it was intended by its creators.

I agree with you, it's interesting how people get so upset or impatient when running a dungeon and getting 3 random people they have never partied with or even spoken to, and expecting those other random players to play they want them to, if you don't like waiting for people to watch cut-scenes or have a specific way you want others to play, then I really believe you should form your own party with like minded people instead of randoming out of a pool of 100's of thounsands of players.

I've been playing all the story stuff with a couple friends. I'm healer, another is a tank and one dps so we just had 1 random person until the last 2 dungeons where unfortunately a lot of farmers are so overgeared that they can still run ahead and finish content even while missing a tank and a healer.

I was running Castrum and I was the only one new to it. The party kept starting bosses without me. Seeing as I was a healer, this was a bad thing. Then they were yelling and cussing at me because they were dying. I didn't care. I play this game for the story. I will always allow people to watch cutscenes if they want to, as story is what this game is designed around. If I was too impatient to deal with story, I would not play this game.

Nobody should ever need to choose to do this the first time they visit a dungeon... Story is priority #1 in an RPG.

Watching cutscenes afterwards isn't a substitute. The cutscenes provide context and meaning to the dungeon the first playthrough. Neither the dungeon nor the cutscenes work alone; they're both part of the overall story. that's how narrative driven games work.
