If you had one person in your party that ran this every day, for 2-4 hours, and STILL hasn't got their drop, would you continue to help them try to get it, or would you move on? How would you feel if YOU were the person who still hadn't received the weapon.

That person is usually me. I'm really happy for you that you got all of your weapons. But, what I'm asking you to think about is that not everyone has that experience because it's random. It's not based on skill, work, time invested, strategy, gear level, even the upcoming reputation system. It's totally random and I am NOT a fan of something that could possibly NEVER give me anything at all. That's not hard work, and it's not patience. It's insanity. (or Sparta, not sure on that one )

I'm not a hardcore, but I'm not an extreme casual who wants everything now. I have no problem working towards something and feel no desire to 'finish the game' quickly. I just want to know that I AM working for something and that eventually I WILL get a weapon. Even if it takes months, I just want to know that I am progressing. I do not like relying on completely random drops.

What if everything about the relic was completely random? What if access to all of the dungeons was completely random? What if, whatever game reward you're looking for was random? Think about how you would feel if you NEVER received what you were trying to get, then tell me you wouldn't want some kind of token system.

tl;dr The possibility that your weapon would NEVER drop to you is not fulfilling, it's insane.
All this is probably why they added Darklight to the token system instead of making it drop from the dungeons in the first place. People would have gone in the dungeon 200+ times and possibly never got the piece they were looking for, and it is why they need to have the same system for primals. Why didn't they just use the same tokens they used in 1.0? Kupo nuts, inferno totems, vortex totems, etc. why remove what worked, even tho they should have cost half as many totems as they requred, and that ifrit didn't always give you a totem.
