How about two weapons instead of one dropping? And make sure that they are two different weapons, and not two of the same weapons.Hello,
First off, sorry for the delayed response on this. We understand that there are requests to implement a token system for primal rewards, however, we currently do not have plans to introduce such a system.
As always, we will continue to review your feedback on this topic, so please be sure to let us know your thoughts.
I find it pretty boring literally 90% of the good endgame gear is token grind fest based in the easiest snorefest zones that give hardly any reward aside from tombstones, mobs drop 1 gil. I also find the grind fest of primals boring, what do?
SE is best at delaying player progression
At least have the weapon drop be only for those jobs in the party.
Spamming a primal fight in hopes to get their weapon is complete waste of time. The reward for your time is too little compared to other places you could spend it. A token system would go along way to making these fights bearable.
I could have swore during beta they were going to have a token system for this primals...
Seems like a completely reasonable request, doesn't it? I've won Garuda HM about seven times now, and at least three of those dropped weapons that nobody in the party wanted. That's not challenging, that's a waste of time.*
*Not asking for first time insta-drop for everyone by the way, but at least *someone* in the group should come away from a victory with what they went in for.
~Note to self: Stop logging out in silly hats~
Ya that the reason why Primal HM is annoying right now. A person can still get their 300 Mythology within a week just by running HM primal but only if they run it every single day of the week constantly.Seems like a completely reasonable request, doesn't it? The drop rate is annoying because the weapon that drops may still be a weapon no one needs because no one in the group is playing the job for that weapon.
The primal HM runs for that single Primal weapon people want is basically like Russian Roulette but this time only 1 ammo slot is not loaded and all the other ammo slots is loaded.
Also I think they should add some kind of token system to go with the current random drop 1 random primal weapon. Reward for Victory over Primal can be 1 Random primal Weapon and 1 "Primal" Token based on the Primal you defeated.
Have the token be used more than getting Primal weapons for people with bad luck such as tokens can be traded for Primal Themed Armor sets ( A lot of people would love to have a Primal Themed Armor set as their Vanity or for collecting), mini-pets (everyone would love a mini-Ifrit pet), and craft items for Primal themed crafts (crafting is popular for profit but they need to bring in some fun stuff to craft) so people will come back to Primal HM other than for their weapon and Relic quests.
People simply just get their Primal Weapon then up and leaves and never come back until they need it for their Relic. Hardly any incentive to stay and help people get their own Primal weapon even when the group has 2 of the same Jobs competing for that 1 primal weapon.

This of course is the fatal flaw in the 'winner takes all' method of gear acquisition, as seen endlessly in XI and umpteen other games where the RNG determines who wins and who loses.
And to those who prattle on about "earning" this gear, YOU didn't 'earn' YOUR TEAM did and you simply won the RNG lottery, YOU getting the weapon you need means they got nothing for getting it FOR YOU! This type of loot distribution appeals to the 'me, me, me' segment of players, it's entirely anti-social.
