I can hardly remember the last time I was excited for winning an end game item drop thanks to those stupid tokens. I much prefer 100 runs with nothing then with a huge "wooh! Finally! /equip" at the 101st, than a "I need to run this exactly 20 times to get enough tokens."
Honestly there is nothing wrong with a token system. Luck is a shitty part of MMO's. You put the time in there the same as everyone else. You should be able to earn it over time.
