I would like to suggest the following loot system:
- 4 man party: 1 piece of loot
- 8 man party: 2 pieces of loot
- 24 man party: 4 or 5 pieces of loot
I think it would be fair for everyone, would reward more than only 1 person.
My 2 cents !

Ugh....what is it with people and trying to create babies first MMO. I got my weapon on the 40th or so run and I was never once actually frustrated when it did not drop or did and I did not get it. It is a game, if a game makes you mad stop playing do not ask for it to be easier. A token system would ruin these fights, I hate the fact that the item level 90 gear is on a token system because I had to calculate out the number of runs I had to do on things and its just so blegh....I prefer just to have luck be on my side maybe and I might get it I might not, sure I may have to run something 100 times, but at least I get the possibility of getting something so I have something to get me through this run and not just...hey...more tokens...woooooooooo.
We're not all kids anyone. We have jobs, families, less time to play.Ugh....what is it with people and trying to create babies first MMO. Honestly if an 8man is only dropping one thing, that's a failure of the system.

I see where your coming from, I have a job and a son I get maybe 3 hours a night during the work week. Its just so short for a good weapon 20 minutes tops, The GC weapons are only slightly lower stat wise, the Ifrit weapons are basically purely ascetic weapons. The appeal to collecting them is basically just that they are so hard to get.
GC 50 weapon is 1 damage less than ifrits, you can beat titan with it, meaning you can get a relic. You never need to farm any primal for drops, pick up 50 GC weapon and get your relic.
I feel like all modern MMOs should adopt a currency/token system, at least for endgame items. Its not fair at all for someone to run a dungeon once and get everything they want, and at the same time other people may have to run it dozens of time and never get what they want. Theres no need for RNG in MMOs when it comes to endgame gearing.
Now you may be asking, "Well wouldn't that just remove the grind from the game and end up having everyone bored quicker?" in which case I propose that you simply make the token reward a low amount so that there is still a grind involved, but not randomness. For example, making it so that you still have to defeat Ifrit 30-40 times to get the gear you want from tokens. Its a fixed amount for everyone, and still a grind. You feel like you're actually making progress, and you don't get taunted by people around you being lucky. Effort should always be equally rewarded.

Question for you all that say no to this. How would it affect your game play if they had a token system? How does it change your gaming experience how someone else got their primal weapon?
So far the "instant gratification" chant is hasn't been much more than a straw man argument and a mantra. Especially because the original token system was slow. It took 10 tokens. Tokens dropped probably once per 3 fights on average for me. That's 30 fights. I'm not sure why anyone thinks that's "instant".
Here, let me take the other side on this. I say, sure, let's get rid of the token system. All of them. Let's get rid of the allahgan tomestone systems. All relic from Rowena NPC's should be random drops from dungeons. If you'll agree to that, I'll agree that token system for primals aren't needed. Those of you that have allahgan tomestones, waste them and throw the items that you got from then out now. All darklights, all wyrm/healer/paladin/etc gear. All of it. Let's go. Chop chop.

no takers?

They have not added Tokens in 1.x for no reason!
Hell, even they tryed a new dropdesign with skirmish...
What I wonder most is the missing explanation why in hell they gone back to the stupid old same RNG we had in 1.x?
Well on the other hand there are a lot of players who are upset about the trade in of old tokens. You cant buy weapons any more? You have garuda tokens but they are giving same ammount of stones as those from ifrit? WTF...
Seriously SE, I hope its just for balancing reasons you have not added to buy weapons yet...

I've run Ifrit too many times and have only saw a sword drop once. Unfortunately, I lost the roll. I really don't even feel like playing the game anymore knowing that it'll be another 50 times before I see it again and I may very well lose the roll on that one too.
