Oh my, i was unaware that the primal hard modes only dropped one weapon for a fight with 8 people. That seems like a bird flip to the players who dare to do more than the main story.
I'd prefer a token system over an additional drop personally, though that's because i don't like randomness in my loot drops that can lead to ridiculous streaks of "You get nothing! You lose! Good day, sir!"
I'd personally be cool with 30 since it's a single boss fight with no trash.

I'm not asking for a token but I see the issue of the drop chances become more harder to obtain as new classes and Jobs become introduced.
The drop chance is not based on what the 8 members but based on the current amount of Jobs in the game.
Currently there is a 1 out of 9 chance to get 1 random Job Primal weapon.
Once introduction of new Jobs is added into the game the chance will be increased. Now drop chances are light in people currently ok with current rate but once they introduce new Jobs and classes the drop chance will increase.
Such as introduction to Musketeer class with its 2 Jobs will increase drop chance from 1 out of 9 chance into 1 out of 11 chance.
If they don't introduce musketeer before introduction the other Jobs for currrent Classes we will see a Primal weapon drop increase from 1 out of 9 chance to 1 out of 16 chance.
with both combied we are seeing a 1 out of 18 chance for a Job Specific Primal weapon drop in the future.

2 monks drops with no MNK in party .....a spear with 2 drg , 1 cried the the other wont touch ifrit ever again.

In 1.0 the token droped from Ifrit/Moogle was same luck based like the weapons.
The token from Garuda was 100% drop, but you needed more tokens for her weapons.
It give a player a goal, a silver lining on the horizon. They know they get the weapon after x amount of runs if they are unlucky and earlier if they are lucky.

I'm adding to the "don't listen to these people SE" front. Don't give in to the instant gratification crowd.
I'd accept a token system if it took 30+ runs to get the weapon.

Ugggh.. I hate how western players cry cry cry to get limits on content and/or drops handed to them. (yes, even after 40 attempts). It's a game of endurance. Instant gratification leads to game hopping and content dying out MUCH quicker. We all know this to be true. SE don't create/give us content quick enough to support token systems all over the game (I believe that's part of what killed FFXI... the token system works - but the lack of content updates to keep progression fresh is where the killer is).
I personally vote against token systems for high end gear. Perhaps giving a slightly subpar (-1) version of the weapons for tokens is fine; but the real thing should come from... well... the real thing... period. Just my opinion.

Incredibly bigoted view, every complains. East, West, North South, blahblah. everyone. Generally about the same things.
This system is a little unreasonable considering by the time you get an Ifrit weapon or such you could have likely finished your relic. Having a completely RNG weapon distribution for these fights just isn't the best course of action. I think reintroducing the Point/Token system would be a happy middle ground, maybe have a shared token between all 3 Primals too, Keeping it simple. Doesnt need to be "5 fights and i got the tokens!" could take 10 or 20, But some sort of foreseeable goal past the luck of RNG would help keep a lot of people motivated.

Will I say why not have both?
Primal Hard Mode can
- Provide 1 Primal Specific Token by default to all members of the group (dead and alive) for defeating the HM Primal. Once you collect enough you can trade the toeks for a Primal Weapon of the Primal you get your token from. All Primal tokens colected will be stored in Token section of your Character page under Tomes collected section
- Defeating the HM Primal will still provide the 1 random Primal Specific Weapon from the chest.
- There should also be other special items you can get by trading the Primal Tokens. For example, you can trade in the Ifrit tokens for a the Ifrit weapon but you can instead trade those tokens for a special Ifrit Armor set or Ifrit Mini-pet.
