The fun isn't "hey look at my weapon", it's partying and working together at a chance, then when you get it, you feel like you earned a reward. I'm tired of this "everyone gets a trophy" mentality.
Everyone else in the first page... wrong
You have a strange idea of fun. For me the enjoyment comes from having the weapon and playing content once the chore of weapon farming is over... guess some people will just qq if they can't chase the shiny objects. Kinda sad, really. Why? so you can get your weapon,t hen start a thread in a week called "i'm bored there's nothing to do i'm quitting"?

Tokens plz. This is coming from someone who killed Ifrit over 100 times to get his damn BLM cudgel (though, go figure -- I have both of the tank weapons...I think YoshiP is trying to bribe me). I only saw the drop twice, and the first one I lost the roll.

I am literally 0/72 on Ifrit's Bow. I have seen one drop in all those times, on my 25th run and I lost the roll to someone doing their first run ever, who also died 5 times during the fight to charge.
I got an Axe though, geared my WAR and now I am half-way done with the WAR relic quest.

it's been a week and i still haven't get my lanceWhy? so you can get your weapon,t hen start a thread in a week called "i'm bored there's nothing to do i'm quitting"?

but i'll have to agree with you
just take it easy, it's not like the game is going to be down tomorrow

I couldn't agree more. I hate being unlucky with drops as much as anyone but the random nature of the..you know...RNG is what makes it special when you do get it. I remember raiding in WoW on my hunter and trying for that god forsaken Chromaggus crossbow. I raided that place religiously EVERY week for like 9 months and it never dropped for our guild even ONE time. Not for any of us. I knew other raid guilds that got it all the time. It sucked and I never got it but oh well..that's the way it goes. The random nature of it is what makes it special to get. When everyone gets it no matter what it ceases to have much meaning or value IMO.Why? so you can get your weapon,t hen start a thread in a week called "i'm bored there's nothing to do i'm quitting"?

I'm not opposed to having certain things like *some* armor sets on a token system of some kind so people can make progress towards harder content regardless of luck but that doesn't mean every item in the game has to have some guaranteed path to acquisition.
Mindlessly grinding for that 1/9 chance that your weapon drops, HOPING that another player of the same Job isn't running the instance... yah that isn't fun, at all. Why? so you can get your weapon,t hen start a thread in a week called "i'm bored there's nothing to do i'm quitting"?

Are you an internet e-thug?
I laugh cause you fake. CX
Gonna throw out some random/plausible numbers, but...
If it were something that could only be done weekly, and you rage from less than 10 attempts (see 10 weeks), you need to learn patience. This is an MMORPG (not your typical RPG console game), things will take time. That time does not assuredly mean "1 week" or even "1 month" in this genre.
If it were something that can be done as much as you want, at any time, and you rage from less than 20 attempts, you need to learn patience again. There's also a need to probably learn about the concept of "give and take". You're given more opportunities to get something, but as a result, they take away a higher percentage drop chance.
MMORPGs is a genre for the masochistic RPGer. That's not even a joke in the least. It's a genre for people who want to put effort into something. It's a genre for those with a mindset that is similar to what is needed to play games like D&D. It's just unfortunately been made into a cheap prostitute recently due to games like WoW, of which, Blizzard themselves have noted as a problem and a fine line that they walk with every decision. Mind you, that's not to say that no one else is allowed to play. Of course not. But it's something to be mindful of when it comes to how YOU view it should be. If something is dominantly not in your field of interest (not being a target audience), your input isn't very useful.

Agree with OP on the increase drop to 2.
Drops should be in ratio to group size. If you obtain 1 drop in Light party, shouldn't it be 2 drops in Full party?
I'd hate to imagine Crystal Tower 24-men raid dropping only 1 or 2 piece per boss.
Indeed, if Crystal Tower has a lockout (Correct me if i'm wrong) it would be even worse, imagine getting only a handful of items (And possible duplicates which are useless) a week >_>

Yes, you can find people to run this with you. But, when the rest of the party has experiences like yours, with less than 2 hours at each primal and receiving your weapon, how many of them will be willing to continue for the one person that is hated by the RNG? If you had one person in your party that ran this every day, for 2-4 hours, and STILL hasn't got their drop, would you continue to help them try to get it, or would you move on? How would you feel if YOU were the person who still hadn't received the weapon.
That person is usually me. I'm really happy for you that you got all of your weapons. But, what I'm asking you to think about is that not everyone has that experience because it's random. It's not based on skill, work, time invested, strategy, gear level, even the upcoming reputation system. It's totally random and I am NOT a fan of something that could possibly NEVER give me anything at all. That's not hard work, and it's not patience. It's insanity. (or Sparta, not sure on that one)
I'm not a hardcore, but I'm not an extreme casual who wants everything now. I have no problem working towards something and feel no desire to 'finish the game' quickly. I just want to know that I AM working for something and that eventually I WILL get a weapon. Even if it takes months, I just want to know that I am progressing. I do not like relying on completely random drops.
What if everything about the relic was completely random? What if access to all of the dungeons was completely random? What if, whatever game reward you're looking for was random? Think about how you would feel if you NEVER received what you were trying to get, then tell me you wouldn't want some kind of token system.
tl;dr The possibility that your weapon would NEVER drop to you is not fulfilling, it's insane.
Everyone thought paid retainers and fantasia would be the end of it.
You were warned.
