Only in an MMO can people do the same thing 50 times in a row, get nothing to show for it, and call it good design.
In the real world, this might be considered obsessive compulsive.

Oi vey...

this made me remember my good ol' RO days
i farmed ghotsring for 2 years but still didn't get the card
is it called a bad design?
no, the game is in fact still running up until now
note: the game was P2P
so much entitlement in this thread

Yes. Because RO has a card trade-in system now... You do know that, right? They use to also keep our username and passwords in plain text format....
Most of you wouldn't live through 1.0 where you could to Ifrit a whole day and at the end you got nothing but a stack of Dark Matter lol. The primels drops a weapong 100% of time no idea what all the crying is about... Makes me want to hug you all D:
I don't understand any of this. For one, why are any of you spamming primals for weapons? Its like spamming the slot machine for money. You are better off getting your weapon somewhere else.
Gc gear weapons do everything you need. Weapons from ak do the same. Hq crafted weapons work as well. If gear progression is your goal then primals are the least effective way to do it.
Tokens aren't necessary because primal weapons aren't necessary. If you insist anyway "just because" then the rng grind is fair. You deal with it.

Again, let's make EVERYTHING rng, darklight, access to amdapor keep, everything you'd like to do or access in this game, make it all rng and you tell me how long you'd keep playing and how long you would put up with someone saying 'just deal with it'
I'm not insisting on a token system, and if I was, it wouldn't be 'just because.' It would be because I have no desire to play a game where it's entirely within the realm of possibility that I could spam the same content, every day, for the full amount of time I am able to play, and still NEVER see the one drop I want. To me, that's not 'just because.'
Everyone thought paid retainers and fantasia would be the end of it.
You were warned.
Cash shop in, TrystWildkey out.

There should be a guaranteed token system just like Garuda had in 1.0. Each time you won the fight in 1.0 you received 2 vortex totems. 40 would get you a weapon. So even if you didn't get a drop, you were still making progress towards acquiring a weapon.
If you had a cooperative LS you could all pool together the totems to one person and get enough for a weapon in 3 fights. If your party was good enough to get it done in less than 6 minutes you could get people geared up quickly if you were willing to cooperate.
SE being SE I suppose.
I got my Ifrit's cane after 50+ runs, it was totally insane, the good thing is I´m very good at Ifrit now XD
It leaves with a really empty feeling trying damn hard all day to get a weapon and end up with nothing to show for it. "another weekend where I could have done something actually productive..." I mean yeah its a video game but god damn. Feels like such an immense waste of time leaving a profound void on my life.
It sucks, but it's what we have right now. I just finished my 38th run for today and prob 70th+ for the week and no weapon yet, but I was able to buy some Dark Light earnings for all my trouble lol. It is somewhat frustrating when you are on your 70+ run and someone comes in for 1st time, spends 90% of the fight dead and walks away with their weapon. All I can say is hang in there guys/gals!
