How to halt a bot

This may or may not be a miscellaneous post.
If you come across a bot teleporting and spawn camping monsters, open a trade window on them and their character will halt everything and stand there.
I'm sure someone else discovered this before me.
Hope this helps anyone partying up for farming.

It's probably better to just report them so it doesn't look like you're interacting with them / buying gil / etc.

Even tho this is a measure to halt them long enough for monsters to respawn, in that light, it's a risky one.

There is a new hack I saw on my server where they are mining underground, you can barely see their name and can't target them. No way I can report them if I can't see their name

Yeah they're starting to do that in all the worlds now. In all honesty I can't say I hate the botters, just hate that I don't have one. Gathering is a real pain

Lmfao! Gg wp, the longer they stick around these here parts, their intelligence increases.
If it's risky, don't do it. The next thing you know, they will use the trade and steal your money
through osmosis somehow.

It might, just gotta track them down I guess.
Isn't there a way to manually target something or someone through text?
If you can select them but not see the name, try to send a tell but copy the name instead of messaging.

I Reported a guy on Cerberus a few days ago and some other guys did it too (like 10 maybe). 5 days after i reported him i saw him again at the same spot, teleporting again from mob to mob..... Got very disappointed after i saw this.
Btw i tryed to trade with him, but he could still teleport away and farm.

I would imagine that the investigation is pretty time intensive, as SE can't risk banning innocent paying customers.

Plus, what's the line between macroing and botting? Don't both involve some kind of automation?
