Character disappearance

Today after playing my Conjurer to level 9 after getting the game. I went over to my roommate computer and installed it so they can try it out since they were on the fence. After walking though the character creation screen with her and telling her to select the same world as the one I am on. She rolled an Arcanist and preceded to go though the opening scenes. However given how it was 7am Eastern we wrapped up and she logged to the start mine and asked some stuff before clicking start again
That's when i notice my character was missing as I was going to show her the Conjurer I made.

I ran back over to my computer relogged and sure enough it was gone and her level 1 Arcanist was the only one. Not sure what happen I tried rolling a new character to see if there was a warning prompt that said there was a danger of removal of the previous character

There was none I was able to roll a new character and after the cut scenes went back and sure enough there was 2 characters now. So something ATE my previous Level 9.

I know that sharing account is frowned on but all I wanted to do was show her the game from fresh to get her excited as well and frankly this shouldn't have happen. there something serious messed up here if a character can be deleted without warning if a new character is created.

Overlooking the aspect of your post you realise is risky ..

I doubt anything 'ate' your level 9, I suspect it's sitting happily on the world you created it on, while your friend's character and the second one you created exist on whatever world was the default world at the time you created them.

Scroll through the world list and look for one with '1' character on it, the 'other' one from that your '2' characters are on.

No, I rolled on Midgard, And even looking at the world select screen there only showing two characters on Midgard and no characters on any realm. This isn't my first MMO I do know that something strange happen and feel it should be looked into and to put a final nail into it I went to my account page to see what characters I do have listed and it's showing only my roommate Arcanist and my new level 1 Conjurer.

Did you check the JA servers out of curriosity?

Yes I did, and frankly if my Account Page is only showing two characters than it's not going to be magically be on the Japan servers.

I was asking because there are times where the servers dont show ja section or the eu/na section and you end up defaulting onto one of those being shown when the other isn't/ Quite often i've ended up looking at a JA server because the ne/eu didnt load.

Seriously this is getting ridiculous I log in tonight to play and level up and finding now I have no characters ON ANY SERVERS, No characters on Midgardsomr which i rolled on. NO Characters on any NA worlds, no character on any JAp worlds and my profile and lodestone is showing i don't have a character. So Please someone in charge tell me what is going on as Characters should not disappear!

I'm very sorry this is happening to you Pomonapple. It is possible that this is definitely an issue server-side and not anything you can resolve without someone on their end assisting you, assumably because if SE does anything like other MMO's, your character list is a sub-list under its parent-list (world names), and I have seen errors in other MMO's where even though players are able to access the world, the character list (a separate sub-function) fails to load or cannot communicate with the world server thus resulting in your situation. I highly doubt you are the only individual with this issue and more than likely you will find it to be intermittent over the next few days though I hope the problem is resolved by itself, you may need to continue attempting to contact customer service via live chat and I would also ask them of your account has been accessed remotely by a hacker as I would t put it past a Gil company hacker to steal all your money, items, then delete your characters.

When I log on the mogstation my character keep appearing/disapearing if I refresh.
