is there an official respond from SE regarding modifications to crafting?

I have seen lots of suggestions and complains about crafting in the forums and i was wondering if there was an official respond from SE regarding this issue. I am hesitating to spend any time or money on it and find out later that they will change how it is. Anyone knows?

Other than scarcity of certain materials and dungeon gear being on par or better than crafted, I haven't seen too many complaints about crafting. Unless you mean gathering, which is not the same as crafting in this game.
But either way, I don't see any big changes happening to the system other than more recipes or more ways to get the currently scarce materials. If you feel that spending time and/or money on crafting is an iffy thing for you, I would recommend against taking up a craft. "If you craft, craft because you enjoy it," has always been my motto for FFXI and it remains for FFXIV and any other MMO. For the time being at least, short of relic quests needing crafted stuff, markets are few and far between. So you might make more money by farming some of the scarce materials instead as most people are too lazy to get it on their own.
