At the absolute very least they could simply add .33seconds to end-game boss AoE for a while. It's broken as is, and feels terrible.

Longer term, I don't see why instance servers can't poll more frequently than .33 - In the open world, I get it. But if i'm being given a dedicated instance, why can't the instance server poll more often?

The system, as it feels, is essentially: player presses a button. Client asks the server "can I do this?" the server says "yes, son", the client says "cool, i'm doing it then daddy!" and then the server says "No running with fire!" and the client says "but I wasn't" and the server says "Oh sorry I hadn't realised you'd stopped running, I was reading Nuts magazine"... etc etc.

Been having this lag since early access, no problem in the beta though. Seems to be at it's worst during prime hours (6pm - 11pm EST), while late night hours (1am EST and on) it's barely noticeable. It's also worse in Dungeons than in the game world.

Whenever I ping the server I get around 30-35 ms, so I had no idea what was going on until I read Unruhe's post.

Now I just hope SE does something about this.

You're probably not thinking about the same thing then, because this is an issue with game code and not your internet connection so this was around in beta as well.

Aaand here we go again, people keeps reporting this over and over, yet there is no official message dedicated to the addressing of this issue:

Here's some post I made a few days (weeks?) ago, I'm starting to feel like I wasted my time:

this is impractical from a computational standpoint and often times inaccurate

    what needs to happen is:
    1. clever tricks such as, the client should report its pos when it enters/leaves a danger areas as some people have allready suggested
    2. the 500+ms internal server latency needs to be addressed, horrible, i couldnt even design such a system if i wanted to without using sleep functions. feels like they are directing traffic through a bunch of low end linux machines with ipnat and realtek network cards
    3. they have race conditions that need to be fixed, plenty of screen shots showing people healing themselves for more than the next damage they take yet still dieing

    Lies!!!

It does not matter what your latency to the server is you automatically have a .3 second lag. The server only checks your location 3 times a second. Fanboi's will be fanobois's. This has been accepted by SE as an issue and they are supposedly working on it. Everyday there are at least a few new threads on this subject.

Apparently you are the magical computer that has found a way to bypass a gamebreaking server lag issue.

So tired of fanoi's saying there is no issue, when it has been admitted an issue by SE and added to the accepted bugs forum. This is a gamebreaking issue for most. It is especially obvious if you are a healer. You are unable to start casting a heal and then interupt it as it still goes off even with a second left on the cast bar. Heals also do not hit the target immediately, it usually takes a biut for it to show up. It is possible to get used to this and accommodate it but we should not have to.

    It's really annoying.

    1) Titan fight(obvi): I watch the cast bar and half a second later the plumes pop, but two pop then the third one pops after, then they all explode at the same time. lol
    2) Non GCD abilities: You have to spam like 8 times after a GCD goes off or they won't fire(like halfway through the GCD cool down they'll fire). Not only this but if you use a nonGCD ability then you block your self for .5-1s after it for using a GCD. Makes zero sense, feels very unnatural and makes game play annoying and frustrating.

Swiftcast > Fire III has a cast time. Swiftcast > wait 2s > fire III is instant.
Umbral ice III > Fire III > Fire I: Fire I has umbral cast time.

Well it could be because there was less people during the beta, so the compounding lag was less. So yes, you are right, it would have been present but just less noticeable due to lower server load.
