My server closed, friend can't join me.

Is there a buddy code feature to allow him to join me on my server? I have two more friends I'd like to talk into joining me, but not if we have to create new characters on a different server each time.

The servers have been opening and closing a lot (well depending on how populated it is.. It may open up again fairly soon. Keep checking the site and look at the character restriction posts, they'll tell you which servers are allowing character creation at the time

Tell you friends just go make one now a random server. (All on the same one) and then you just transfer later this week when they let us. Tis what I'm doing. Welcome to the club buddy. *high five*

Your friends best bet is to get on late night to early mornings.

One of my MMO buddies just started playing FFxiv yesterday. Unfortunately, my server was closed to new characters when he tried to make his first toon. That was last night. According to the official Lodestone News, my server is now accepting new characters. Go figure....

The moral? Don't give up. Try again. And again. And again....

The servers rotate multiple times everyday (or at least they used to) so just have your friend keep trying and to check the character restrictions thread. I wouldn't bother switching servers or even having your friends create a character and then wait for server transfer.
