1. Look at Task Board
2. Get Items required for Task
3. Hand in items to guild leader
4. NPC states I will be rewarded with items (items that have been said when error occurs, 100 wind shards, 5000 gil, 100 earth shards)
5. NPC hands me rewards (items recieved bronze wire, 100 wind shards, 5000 gil respectively from previous statement)

It is more a inconsistency in what they say they offer and when they give you the reward.

When they offer the reward, they say they will give it to 'a select few' adventurers. however when they actually give you the reward, they say 'as promised.

here is the txt from the carpenter guild:

A'naidjaa: Excellent! Then bring to me a single pine dagger grip. The guild is prepared to offer a select few 100 earth shards as recompense for their efforts.
*Hand in pine dagger grip
A'naidjaa: The deed is done, then. The guild couldn't be more pleased with your work. Here is your reward, as promised.
*Given a spool of copper wire
A'naidjaa: You are turning out to be rather useful, I must say. Here, a token of the guild's appreciation.
*Given 3500 gil

don't feel too bad i can do the r30 alc quest and instead of getting the 3000 guild marks they subtracted 3000 alc guild marks. at least you did receive an item lol.
