Thread: So.. 2.1 is still 2 months away? (November)

Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn will get "a major update every three months" after its release, director and producer Naoki Yoshida said in an interview published today on the PlayStation Blog.

"We're planning on doing a major update every three months once the game has been released and continuously adding large-scale content," Yoshida said. "Ongoing support for the game will be included in the monthly subscription."

I realize patches take time but the stuff missing in game right now is stuff that frankly should have been in at launch. Now that you've seemingly stabilized the servers it seems strange we're going to be waiting another 2 months for the much needed quality of life changes and actual end-game content.

i think the 2.1 will come sooner, he have told it while the 8th live letter, the 2.1 will be there sooner than player can expect it.

Take into consideration everything this installment of the final fantasy series has gone through up to this point. I feel way to many people neglect to account for any of that. To do justice to exactly whats gone on to date and then explain to you the reasons he has given for his decisions would probably be a waste of time. I have been following this game from 1.0 beta to now and all I can say is I think things are great for now. Granted, they could have shut down the game for another 2 years just to install all the systems they wanted but by far what we have now is hand over fist more than what 1.0 came out with. We at least have a good idea of what direction its headed and things we can expect/look forward to.

Right now the game is playable and incredibly fun. Why should they have held back release (aside from unforseen overloading of servers due to popularity, which is a good thing btw) for another 2 years just to add fluff?

Let's get the base game straightened out first, shall we?
