Just that when you click/tab onto an enemy, you can see who they are targetting/attacking via the players name/bar next to the enemy's health bar. Then its just a simply click onto that name to heal quickly
Though like v_jones says, its only really useful low/mid level as splash damage comes into consideration as you level up but its a good way to start training i feel.
For reference. You can target the player by using /assist, set a keybind for Target the Target of Your Current Target under the Targetting tab, and/or make a macro: /ac "nameOfHeal" <tt> as well.

ah ok thanks appreciate the explanation.

This is a fairly standard trait in MMOs, and in Final Fantasy games. As a general rule, everybody can wear cloth, everybody but casters can wear leather, heavy/slow DD and tanks can wear scale/chain/light metal armor, and only tanks and sometimes heavy DD can wear the heaviest armor. Of course, just because everyone can wear cloth doesn't mean everyone wants to. You won't see tanks or melee rolling Need on caster gear in dungeons; even though we could wear it, we don't want it, and if it has caster stats, we can't roll Need.
There really isn't CNJ-specific armor (See this list), but as you can see, there are some DoM-specific items, and at higher levels, healer-specific items. And there is WHM-specific armor at higher levels (list).
As I said previously, the All Classes gear IS both the healer and magic DPS gear. It has stats for both types. It is designed for ACN, CNJ and THM. As you gain more levels, you will see stuff with only MND or only INT on it, but at low levels, it is all the same.
