I can't continue the main story any further

I teleported with my party after the Garuda fight and now i can't start or find the quest to continue the story any farther. i can't get back to were you need to talk to Alphinaud after getting off Cid's air ship. i had just finished the lady or the vortex Quest. can anyone help plz

Apologies if I'm wrong here, but from memory, while that quest is active, you can still get back to that area by going to the airship place in Gridania and when you talk to them instead of asking if you want to go to Limsa or Uldah, they'll give you another option which is for the Howling Eye area or something like that.

The next part of the quest involves speaking with Alphinaud in the Waking Sands (Horizon teleport). Sorry if you've also tried that already, but if not perhaps go there and see if you can find him? I believe he was off in the left side room once you've entered the Waking Sands.

I found it it in uldah at that airship.
