[BUG / CHEATING] Tradecraft Exploit: Mining

Zone: Central Thanalan
Time Witnessed: 9/17/2013 at approx. 7:30 PM PDT
Details: Two players named 'Demon Shadow' and 'Chulolo Chulo' were witnessed teleporting from one mining node to another in Stealth mode, moving immediately from one used up mining node to a new one a considerable distance apart, immediately and in stealth, which normally slows player movement down. This was ongoing as I watched for about 15 minutes to see if was a latency issue on my part or not, but that was not the case. They would mine one node, then immediately pop up on top of a new node and start mining, then move on to another one nearby. This was immediate movement from one node to another, NOT walking or traveling by any other means such as a mount.

Considering we all get access to a node of our own, I don't see any other reason for this than that they are selling items either through market and/or to vendors then selling currency for RMT.

This is widespread on every server. On Diabolos I see players using the bot teleporting hack program everyday in every zone. I always watch them to be sure that it is a bot/hack program and always report the player. There are some mining bots that I have seen at low levels that are now in mid 40's .

EA need to get on top of this before the economy crashes (which is close to it) on gatherable mats. It's making it harder to make honest Gil in game as a gatherer as each day goes by.

What's even worse is I'm having to take valuable time out of enjoying the game to spend time watching them/filling out report tickets. Just hoping the reason alot of them have not had accounts suspended/banned is EA is watching them trying to figure out what programs they're using and finding a way to detect them in future.

I find myself spending way too much time reporting every single hacker/botter than I really should. Need a faster method of reporting someone if nothing else. It is widespread on most servers I'm sure, but chiming in saying Ultros server at Central Thalanan mining nodes and Central Shroud botany nodes has at least 2-4 hack/bots at any given moment of the day.

Huge problem been going on for over 3 weeks now.All we can do is report them and hope SE starts doing something about them soon because it is out of hand and just getting worse.

I'd like to bump this. I'm on Leviathan, and have reported the exact same two users as OP.

Pretty big problem, and in-game GM should be able to witness this in a heartbeat. It's clear botting and exploitation.

It really needs to be addressed soon. Aside from the obvious advantages/unfairness, these "players" are taking up valuable server bandwidth from real peeps.

on Shiva too we have a whole free company Angel who are just porting away mining/botany and killing creatures namely the diremites in north shroud one player especially bad called Feiyu Tia has managed to reach lvl 40 porthacking getting really annoying when you're trying to get the webs you need and before you can even get to the creature he's ported to it and killed it , getting really old they seriously need to fix this problem.

I thought I was seeing things earlier and discounted it but after seeing this I thought I should post and say that I saw several people doing the same when I was busy farming water crystals in Central Thanalan. I am on Behemoth server. This is ridiculous and needs to be addressed asap. I know this is something that's easy enough to detect if there is input being made via a program... so get on this SE. I think this is why they are getting swarmed with so many players... they are bots! *sigh*

This is a HUGE problem!!! SE please please do not waste all the time and money you put into making this amazing game. Your in game economy is being flooded by these botters! They are teleporting under the world!

You MUST stop this bot, it is being ran by thousands of chinese gil farmers and their only mission in life is to make money at any cost. If they take down your game in the process they could care less. You need to track this bot, you need to track teleporting!

I would imagine they are aware, I report them when I see them too. Yes, it's a pain - but hopefully everyone we report will have gil/experience wiped when they have a fix for the problem.

I would agree that they are probably trying to figure out exactly how they are doing it and have a way to detect it and prevent it from happening further.
