Please save gear sets to server, not locally.

I hope this is the right place to make a request to Square Enix. I just had to wipe my pc clean and upon re-installing and running FFXIV, I was surprised to see that my gear sets that were saved were gone! I expected to have to re-setup my UI, but not have to re-setup, and created new saves for each of my battle, crafting and gathering classes. Granted I don't have as many as a lot of people do, but can't our armor sets be saved to the servers so we don't have to do this every time we're on a different pc, or have to wipe out ours?

I found where I think the files are to copy them, but not sure which folder is which character's, they don't have the toon names in them. Please consider this SE!

Agree x1000. I have 3 different PC's that I play on given the day/time of day and having to re-tool my gear sets, hotbars, and UI for each one each time is tedious.

It's the same for playing on PC then swapping to PS3.
I have to re-do all my gear sets and hot bars.

Please can they be saved server side.

I'm with this. In addition it would be nice if the tooltip told you that a piece of gear was part of a gear set. I hate trying to clean out and organize my armory chest without knowing what im actually using.

I travel a fair amount for work so I have XIV on my desktop and laptop. I just copy the following files over and it results in having all information on both computers:

FFXIV.cfg
FFXIV_BOOT.cfg
FFXIV_CHAR_01.dat
As well as the CHR folder that houses the rest of the data.

It takes a few seconds, and I never have to play with gear sets or the UI. While I agree server side would be nice, this is a pretty simply fix.

Thanks for that, Wyyote. I'll start backing up those files. I see they are in the root of the 'FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn' folder - do you know if these files cover all created character's data?

Another thing I just found out is saved locally, is when you design a brand new character and can save the appearance data, to load into another newly created character later on - those were also gone. Maybe this is also covered in those ^^ three files.

Ahh maybe those three files do not cover everything, I made a new toon on another server and the UI was defaulted

Please allow us the option in the settings to have this information saved on the server or our machine. Same for controls (separately from the sets).

Just a side note, you can save your folders and re-use data for other computers if you save them to a cloud drive.

Yep! You can also dropbox them, then just set it to sync when you load, and voila!
