    Android Security Token Resets

    Has anyone else faced this? I went to log in tonight and opened up the app to come to it asking me what language I wanted the app reset itself and now I am locked out of my own account because of no way to get a 1 time password from the token app. All support is down being past 6pm PST soo annoying!!

    It should have given you an emergency removal code on the SE site when you signed up for the One Time Pass. I emailed mine to myself. Try yours if you have it.

    I've had this happen once before, did you remember to copy the software tokens "Emergency Removal Password" thats what i used to remove my token, then i simply logged in and re-added new token from start.

    I don't see a removal code but I dug through my trash in email and found my registration code they sent, but when I try it says its expired. I must have not seen the removal code I still have all my emails from SE all way from Beta test 3

    SE didn't email you the code, you had to copy it down from the account page when you added the security token. It was also visible everytime you logged into http://account.square-enix.com/ in red text on the right side of the page. Unfortunately if you didn't make a copy of this then there's nothing you can do by contact SE and go through whatever procedure they have to manually remove it from your account

    Mine is the keychian physical one thats still working since ff11 came out. I have no emergency password removal or add option. Just a remove the entire thing option. Guess physical ones are diferent or the removal code is recent, or at least added since after the initial sales of the physical token began 11 years ago.

    This happened to me this last weekend and I've been locked out of my account since. I've contacted SE via chat support but the say they can't unlink it via chat, only phone. That is the worst option for me since I live outside the US and calling is going cost me an eye. I tried to call today but had to give up since I was on hold for an hour. Can't wait to see my phone bill this month )=

    Edit: And no, I didn't know there was an emergency code until I needed it. Guess it's part my fault for not paying attention.

    I don't know if it's only software tokens that have an emergency removal password, but I know my original FFXI hardware one didn't. Possibly when you register newer token now it does give you a password, but I don't know for sure. But if you see a low battery indicator on the hardware token you should obviously remove it from your account straight away.

    yeah this doesn't show for me, I got the physical token from 1.0 CE
