    Stats for Gear are very Boring

    The gear in this game needs special stats not just slight upgrades in the same normal stats whenever you get better gear for your class or job. Another thing I find stupid is that the allagan gear is basically the same as the Mythology gear with very very slight differences if any at all.

    Yes, this! You could have Allagan Flaming Gear! Then Mythology Flaming Gold Gear! By the time you get to 50, it would be Mystical flaming gold gear of Price Edward Charles the 3rd Hailing from the lost Kingdom of Jeuno, who Fell off his horse and was rendered unconcious for a decade, the third, +2".

    Back to the main topic, stats are fine as they are. Higher stats would just mean higher stats on the enemies too, thus rendering the increase useless and creating stat inflation on the long run (see WoW).

    As for extra stats with bonus to effects/resistances I'm all for it, as long as it doesn't get out of hand.

    I don't think the OP's concern is with the number associated with a stat or even the name of the gear as Nasomi suggested. It's with the variety of stats and I share the concern.

    While only having a handful of stats makes it easy to identify an upgrade, it isn't very exciting (Now the only reason to be excited about a new piece of equipment is for its looks). I would love to see stats on gear that have an effect on our abilities (like AF gear did in FFXI). The game already has some interesting stats, but they seem limited to gear we would never actually use, like the crowns given as a reward in achievements.

    Stats are fine. It is to avoid certain op items that will make the game soo much easier.

    Atleast in this way, each and every class is equal as lomg as they have the same gear

    This hit it fairly well. While I am all for more unique effects on gear, keep in mind that can not swap gear in battle in this game as well. If we could, just want to point out some of the issues XI had due to that, just look at the mages who never really had any free inventory space because all of the situational gear with good effects they had to carry around.

    A good class to look at for this right now is ACN. As if one wants to be able to use both SMN and SCH effectively they are going to be carrying at least two gear sets as is, and if special effects go rampant they are not going to have any room for any gear besides all of their ACN gear very fast.

    I've brought this up many times and I really agree that it needs tweaking. Whatever happened to gear giving negative stats in exchange for bigger boosts in others.. What about gear giving hp, crit damage.. And what the hell happened to the bonuses granted by particular stats like DEX giving crit rate? It's not just unique ability enhancing stats, it's also variety we need...

    They had it right in version 1, I don't know why they felt the need to change it. It really is bland at the moment.

    Indeed, we had a few threads in beta about this. I believe the official reply was that they were waiting to balance everything out first, then they'd start adding more interesting gear stats.

    Personally it's never been the stats on gear that excite me so much as what that new piece of gear will allow me to accomplish.
