Its a deep seeded issue that permeates online game communities, but it is essentially born from the outside. We live in a society where everyone is told they are "special" and where realising your shortcomings is only something for the few. We all have shortcomings, and in their humility, ones who realise their imperfections learn to respect others.

In short - people are becoming dumber and online games are becoming more like a single-player experiences with online aspects, further fueling this issue. However, its unfortunate to say that you are part of the problem, because complaining on a forum only creates animosity. I'm really not sure what you were trying to achieve here.

from what i'm seeing the community in this game isn't very accepting of mistakes either. make a mistake or don't do something as fast as someone thinks you should have, even if you're new to the content, and ppl start spewing all kinds of hateful shit at you. nobody is perfect, at least give ppl chances to learn from their mistakes. and sadly i don't think it's just the crowd from other mmos, alot of the ffxi community was pretty elitist too.

:/ A kick button would be nice, if someone was overly toxic on WoW, we could just kick 'em. On this, people know they can say and do what ever they like, and they cannot get kicked from the dungeon group. I find that the tanks have been the most toxic so far, as they can just leave and get an instant cue back in.

I have always loved final fantasy, and when FF14: ARR came out, I was overjoyed! All the people I have met irl who played final fantasy were really nice, and the games themselves teach people right from wrong, so I am fairly disappointed by how much of the community are just terrible :/ *Sigh* I thought it would be different...

The whole reason I became a white mage was because I liked helping people, but people these days just make me want to let them die.

These forums are just as bad, all you see is "this fails" "endgame doesn't compare to X" I don't even bother browsing the general section anymore. Hopefully when the next best thing comes out people can go trash that game and spend more time complaining and less time playing.

Regarding ps3 vrs PC players.

I've played a lot of mmos on the PC and always find poor attitudes in the mix, always! I don't play any of the PS3 fps whatever kill ppl and teebag games which I think is he where people are thinking the poor players are coming from. I really don't think FFXIV is attraction the FPS kid gamers. I think more than anything we have angry wow players and such but that's just my 2 Gil
